The large being of Inferno Fires roared out loud, while Dante who was within its forehead looked confused. He tried to convey his intention to continue absorbing the burning sword even though it already left its body, but the Inferno Vulcan seemed repulsed at that thought.
It was as if the Inferno Vulcan became a sentience itself from Dante's control. The red-cladded Havoc Bringer glared at Ryu. "What did you do?!"
"Nothing. I merely allowed you to try your foolish attempt." Ryu looked at the Inferno Vulcan as well. He had simply allowed the burning sword to pierce through it and the Inferno Vulcan still managed to absorb some, causing its current state.
The Inferno Vulcan staggered backwards like it was its first time to walk without support. It seemed to be afraid even though its Inferno Fires looked stronger and denser than before the absorption. Dante felt its fear and restlessness.
He gritted his teeth. It was just a mere sword after all... even though it stabbed him in the chest and caused an injury that couldn't regenerate with his race's natural recovery ability.
"Seems the giant knows what will happen if it continues to try taking in some of the Fire Abstruse." Ryu grinned. The Inferno Vulcan actually managed to gain a sentience on its own by just absorbing a bit of Fire Abstruse. However, his Fire Abstruse wasn't something average among those who possessed Fire Abstruse. It was that of high quality that the Inferno Vulcan felt it would explode and become nonexistent if it took anymore. Had he focused on Fire Abstruse, perhaps he would've obtained a superior quality of it but he did not.
While the Inferno Vulcan understood how monstrous the little human in front of it was, Dante continued to try control the Inferno Vulcan made from his Awakening of Fire Fire Fruit : Model - Inferno. Eventually, he was successful but it was clear that the Inferno Vulcan was afraid.
"Just who are you?" Dante became suspicious. The man in front of him was definitely a human and a strong one at that. In his memories, he also realized that there were no humans with such immense strength. "Even though I've hidden in the world, I made sure to keep an eye on humanity for any strong powerhouses... And you were not one of them."
"Oh?" Ryu faintly smiled while raising one of his eyebrows. "That is to say, you existed for quite a long time?"
"..."
"If that's the case..." The handsome green-eyed man waved his hand. The burning sword diminished into nothingness, but his presence became more powerful. "I'm quite curious, who was the strongest human you've discovered back then?"
The Inferno Vulcan suddenly moved as Dante spoke. "It does not matter. You are the strongest human I've ever seen."
Ryu became dissatisfied but waved his left hand in a light shoving manner. "That's too bad."
*woosh*
A small breeze manifested, hurling towards the Inferno Vulcan's flaming body. The Inferno Vulcan couldn't move quickly, so it could only stop in place and try to block the small breeze with its arm in X-state to protect its body. It was silent but the small breeze made contact with the Inferno Vulcan's arms and dissipated as if it had been a mirage.
"Hmm?" Dante frowned. He remained cautious as he looked at Ryu's faint smile.
"It's unfortunate, but it looks like we're stopping here." His Sword Aura became slightly oppressive. Ryu stared at Dante and yet not really him. "Isn't that right, you who watches from afar?"
Dante's heart shook when he heard him. His eyes visibly contracted as he shouted. "You, when did you enter?!"
He looked at Ryu and yet did not seem to look like he was talking to him at the same time. A stony voice floated across his mind.
'When you used your devil fruit. I have been watching since then...'
Dante then felt something hurling towards them from afar, making him panic.
"Why?! I've yet to...!" A realization struck Dante as Ryu looked at him with that same damnable smile. "...It can't be...?"
"Indeed." Ryu laughed. His Sword Aura became more dense and heavier, causing the Inferno Vulcan stagger again. Dante heard that same stony voice again.
'You've already lost.'
*BOOM*
The Inferno Vulcan bellowed with hoarse tone. Its body became sliced off everywhere, easily and smoothly falling off each others as they went down. The immense heat also rapidly receded while the ocean finally could fill the hollow area.
Dante emerged out of the Inferno Vulcan's forehead before it finally dissolved into nothingness. It originally was a large mass of island, converted into a large giant of mass, and then a large giant of Inferno Fires. Now it was simply nothing as Dante felt his loss. His eyes widened in shock and disbelief despite the impending doom that was rapidly approaching them from afar.
Ryu slightly flattened his mouth and turned away to look at the direction where 'it' was coming from. "This is unexpected."
What he sensed was a large and long projectile rapidly approaching. It seemed like a medium-sized island that could hold two cities would be crushed from it, while a small-sized island would be completely obliterated. Moreover it retained its prowess despite it being sent from afar, not even diminishing the slightest.
"...General, is he really that much?" Dante sensed what it was, and knew that it was something too overwhelming.
'...This human is too strong. Not only that... Kan has spoken highly of him.'
When he heard the General's response, Dante froze immediately. Kan? Wasn't he one of the ten strongest Havoc Bringers? "Lord Kan? But is he not at that accursed place?"
'Indeed. The very same Kan I'm talking about. This human is Ryu, also known as Solitary Pirate in the human lands.'
Dante gnashed his teeth and looked at the human. His red-cladded armor became aflame with Inferno Fire. Despite finding out that this human was praised by the strongest Havoc Bringer, his pride was simply on verge of making him rage. A mere human... He was a Havoc Bringer and yet, the strongest Havoc Bringer praised a MERE HUMAN!
Ryu felt the intense burning eyes boring into his presence but ignored it. After all, he was currently at his current possible strongest as the clone of the actual person. Although 75% of the actual person didn't seem a lot compared to full 100%, it was actually everything of actual Ryu, without the God prowess. Divinity was something he, as the clone, lacked, which was the whole 25%.
'More will be coming, stall him.'
Dante heard his order and he truly wanted to resist it. Because stalling him also meant to become a causality. "Damn it!"
His aflame armor blazed heavily and Dante brought out his natural element, Lava. He had already incorporated Lava with Fire Fire Fruit : Model - Inferno, which jumpstarted the Awakening progress, but Ryu still remained alive in front of him.
Ryu moved, his right hand directly aiming at the location where he deemed the target to be at. He smiled and said to Dante and the one who watched through the Havoc Bringer. "Compared to Kan, you both don't seem much."
His facial features abruptly changed into that of coldness. His right hand that had been facing the area with its palm, became enclosed with only its index and middle fingers pointing at it. Ryu moved both of those fingers downwards in a smooth and swift movement.
His Sword Aura blared and Dante who was merely at least fifty feet away became immensely afraid for some reason. Then Ryu casually turned to him. "It's also time for your end."
Dante remained frozen as he stared at Ryu. He was confused to what exactly happened, but was also frozen by Ryu's immense power he just revealed. Not even the General had such power when he stood in front of him. The realization of Ryu's absoluteness struck Dante's pride heavily.
Ryu had allowed Dante few seconds to make a move, but seeing that he did not do anything, he shrugged. His Sword Aura sent off a brief pulse towards the Inferno Flames-cladded Havoc Bringer. Although it was a pulse, it was unimaginably sharp.
Dante was immediately struck by it, a deep cut appearing on his chest. He spurted out blood as he staggered in the air. 'Damn!'
Ryu was about to say something when both of them felt a presence approaching them from above. He became on guard against it, feeling the malicious pressure. "Who's there?"
"Haha!" A large shadow hovered above the ocean, easily covering Dante and Ryu. When it revealed itself to both of them, they became astounded.
Ryu recognized it. It was a large western dragon with black scales... As for Dante, he knew who exactly that dragon was, as one of survivors from Void Century. Dante didn't hesitate to run away. 'They're supposed to be extinct in the Void Century!'
The western dragon with black scales noticed this but didn't do anything as it looked at Ryu instead with a sneer. "So the damnable humanity still has someone like you!"
"And what are you?" Ryu frowned. He felt that this dragon wasn't someone ordinary for the race, and Dante even ran away without hesitation too.
The western dragon merely smirked. Suddenly, a huge burst of air exploded between them.
*WOOSH*
"You are strong." The black-scaled dragon flapped its wings, but it sneered. "However, not enough."
It abruptly opened its mouth and few black balls of projectiles manifested in front of it before each of them sent off slightly grayish beams in front of it. Ryu immediately dodged it, while being a bit surprised. 'Is that a laser beam?!'
"Argh!" A pained shout sounded in a distance but neither gave it any attention.
The black-scaled western dragon moved its mouth to Ryu's location, the 'laser beam' piercing through the ocean, which created large gaps within the seabed. Its piercing slitted eyes glinted slightly before its 'laser beam' became more stronger and thicker.
Ryu felt something probing his mind, so he resisted it as he moved around while approaching the black dragon. However, he was just a mere clone right now, there wasn't much protection in his mental defense aside from Sword Aura. Even though Sword Aura could cut through the mental attack, Ryu was sure that the black dragon was far better due to the possibility of its lifespan going before Void Century.
The 'laser beam' breath of the black dragon faded away. It frowned a bit. "So you even have a defense for your mentality..."
The western dragon didn't like that because its mental attack was supposed to make the human fall into his control. If it failed, it would change to something more malicious, making the human become deranged. But Ryu didn't even look the slightest crazy. He was simply cautious while continuing to move towards him.
"You must die." The dragon's slit eyes became frigid as glaciers as it stared at Ryu who abruptly disappeared.
*splash*
A heavy splash happened under the dragon and that confused it. It turned its eyes downwards, its eyes rapidly widening. Its right hand of claws was down there.
Then a presence was felt right above its neck, which the black dragon immediately reacted to. Despite its large body that could easily cover a small island, it was quick and agile as it dodged Ryu's sharp Sword Aura.
"Damnable human! You dared to cut my hand?!" Shadow-like blood splurged out of its right wrist that was so cleanly sliced.
Ryu merely continued. He moved towards the dragon who was being dodgy as he waved his hands. "You're a threat, of course I would dare to."
"Ridiculous! You think you can just do it?!" The black dragon's sliced wrist slowly regenerated with a shadow-like mist before revealing a completely restored hand of claw. Right after that, the black dragon's body pulsated a dark shadow aura-like.
Ryu immediately felt that the black dragon began to reveal its strength. He already knew that this dragon had been toying before. With that, he also went all-out and coldly looked at it.
Despite the fact he wasn't really all-out because his clone only had everything but divinity, Ryu was still a powerhouse to be cautious around. The black dragon felt the air shift around it and it knew. It knew that this human was too strong and abnormal even among the human race. So he growled.
The sky changed and darkness eroded it. It was as if Blackbeard had used his Awakening technique, Black World, though it obviously couldn't be compared to the black dragon's power. Ryu felt his power slightly diminishing as he was in it.
"No matter! You're within my domain and will die in it!" The black dragon didn't want to admit it but the benefits of having someone strong dying in its domain was addictive. Because it would gain more strength and power whenever someone strong died in its domain, the black dragon always brought out its Dark Domain and would force them in it. This practice was malicious and evil, so the other dragons it was familiar with, did not like it and would usually stay away from it.
Ryu didn't know any of that as he charged towards the black dragon. His Sword Aura began to create swords comprised of Light Abstruse. His mastery of Light Abstruse was slightly lower than High Quality, but it was enough for the black dragon based on his observations.
The black dragon looked like it was in the presence of countless flies and it found that disgusting. "This is... Light? But that kind of Light should be only emitted by that lad..."
It then snorted.
"Even if you have it, it doesn't do much." It was just a mere revulsion. The black dragon didn't delay and made its move as Ryu also sent off those Light swords.
The swords shot off in air-piercing speed while several ghastly chains manifested from below. The below seemed as if the ocean had became a malicious shadow-like ocean. The ghastly chains moved towards the human who continued to dodge as the chains chased him.
Ryu frowned. Those chains had similar feeling to those golden chains that pierced him back in Wano Country. 'If that's the case, it still should be able to reduce my abilities further than already...'
With that thought, he didn't hesitate to create several more swords to cut those ghastly chains. It seemed stronger than the golden chains, so he instinctively felt its danger since he was in the black dragon's Dark Domain.
'How do I break the domain...?' Ryu thought for awhile as he cut down those ghastly chains. It seemed to him that the Dark Domain would only be taken down if the black dragon did so.
The Light swords made contact with the black dragon who thought it was useless...
*zzing*
Abruptly, those Light swords pierced through the black dragon and remained inside it. This shocked the black dragon immensely. "What?!"
Its scales was definitely durable and stronger than the norms it considered, but those Light swords actually managed to cleanly pierce into its body.
Ryu wasn't surprised as he casually asked. "Do you also protect your insides too?"
The black dragon instinctively felt the alarming danger from those Light swords, so it quickly moved to protect its insides but it was too late.
With a thought, those Light swords within its body exploded into sharp shards made out of Light Abstruse. The black dragon froze before countless shards pierced their ways out of its body. "ARGH!!!"
However, Ryu frowned again. The Dark Domain still remained and he still felt his powers continuously diminish by a bit. As expected, after few seconds, the black dragon snarled like it never received any damage.
Its body had shown several evidences of those shards ruthlessly messing its body up, but now, its body seemed normal like it never received any harm. Only the black dragon knew how it felt to be ruptured from within.
The Dark Domain that spanned slightly over five miles became more horrific as corpses appeared. They seemed like puppets due to their bodies looking controlled. Each corpses' race differed, spanning from insects to unknown species that died in the black dragon's Dark Domain.
The black dragon seemed like it came from beyond Void Century, so it was unknown just how many died in its Dark Domain as more corpses continued to appear. Those unknown species even radiated power, showing how exactly strong the black dragon had been in the past.
Although Ryu wanted to know about those unknown species, he sharply looked at a humanoid figured corpse. Its strength literally rolled off its body as it emotionlessly stared back at him.
When the black dragon saw this, it smirked. "That one is a human like you. His death was a memorable one, I can still remember it like it was mere nights ago."
Chains shot from the below, penetrating all of those corpses. The corpses remained motionless but their eyes, if any, stared at Ryu with no emotions. Ryu felt slightly unnerved by it because being stared like that by everyone was kind of freaky.
The black dragon was about to speak again but the corpses charged over without its control. Just as Ryu was going to retaliate, those corpses with shadow-like aura abruptly reappeared right before him. The foremost was that same dead human who emotionlessly looked back at his chilly green eyes.
The dead human merely swung its weapon, a longsword adorned with beautiful scribbles, towards Ryu. It seemed a normal swing but to Ryu who held Sword Aura, it was as if a whole world was crashing towards him.
"Who were you?!" Ryu jumped back. He became flustered while his Sword Aura immediately blared and exploded with its harsh and ruthless sharpness.
The dead human didn't respond and continued to move its longsword, almost making contact with Ryu's Sword Aura. The very moment it was about to make contact, the other corpses suddenly snarled and attacked Ryu at the same time.
*BOOM*
The black dragon resembled like a fish out of water, gaping. It was fortunate that Ryu didn't see it. 'When did my Dark Domain become so strong...?'
