Capítulo 5: Water
I wake up with Eye in my arms.
The first thing I think is:
'Hey, didn't I say you should stay away? Do you not know what personal space is?!'
The second is:
'Hmmm, It is really cute... I wonder what is the name of its species...'
Well, of course, I push it away since I must not get attached to it.
I almost pity it since it looks startled and confused after being shoved awake.
But no, I must not pity It. Its pitifulness might be a mechanism to fool me.
"Would you know how to arrive at a river, Ey- Thingie?"
It just stares blankly at me.
Guess not...
Well, It had helped with finding that comestible leaves, and I already touched it once, so I decided to just pick It up and start walking off.
We will arrive somewhere any time soon... Probably.
...
We obviously didn't arrive anywhere even after walking a long way.
Eye is a silent company now it isn't crying nor whimpering.
I check on it.
... It is actually sleeping!
Just because I am carrying you over doesn't mean you can sleep! I am not a taxi!
I feel tempted to just throw it at a tree, but then I remember how it looked this morning and yesterday.
It must be sensitive to pain, and I did wake It up pretty early...
Okay, let's let it sleep a bit more. At least one of us can have this luxury.
I decide to stop to recuperate my energies, though.
Even if I am used to running after people to fight and running from people, it was always sprints and not long walks like that.
I am beaten, haggard.
Sitting there with Eye on my lap I start looking at my surroundings.
Forests have a pretty magical feeling to them, hm?
The way the light is filtered through the leaves is beautiful and now that I stopped I can hear the sounds of animals and birds, and see all these pretty stones everywhere.
Wait, pretty stones?
I remember seeing them on the way here since I was looking down as to not trip over.
I try to pick one up but it has actually a part buried on the ground and all of them seem to be like that...
I dig around one of them until I can tuck it off.
It is a gem under a rock with a hole in it?
The gem is a deep purple and the rock doesn't look like something nature would do so randomly and on such a large scale.
The hole is just large enough to put my pinky into it though.
Before I can look into it a bit more, Eye wakes up.
I guess I should start walking again.
After cleaning a bit of the dirt, the stone is safely stored in my backpack.
I pick up Eye again but it gets too hyperactive, finally jumping out of my hands and making me run after it.
"Go slower, please! You might have been sleeping all this time but I am pretty tired okay?!"
It does listen to my words at all, but I soon am running with all my might too, since I can hear a heavenly sound... Water.
And flowing a watercourse, you can always find humans.
