Capítulo 3: Chapter 3: Friends
KASEY'S POV
Today was weekend and it's been two months since i transferred I also met my grandparents on my mom's side sa kanila din ako minsan nag ii-stay pag weekend, since its weekend it means that we don't have class, pero hindi ibig sabihin nun ay hindi na ako mag aaral, after i ate my breakfast and clean my room -i'm the one who's cleaning my room even though we had a maid di naman kasi mahirap mag linis- i started to review all my notes since malapit na ang examination week namin, midterms are coming, kailangan kong mag review para naman di ako mangolelat and to make sure that i maintain my grades, i don't want to disappoint my dad and grandparents at isa pa gusto kong mahigitan ang grades ni kuya nung high school pa sya, but then i cant beat him coz he was a genius, but at least kahit hindi ako ang top sa klase i'm still in the ranking.
Di ko namalayan ang oras sa kaka-review ko, and when i look at the clock in my study table i saw that it was already past 2 in the afternoon at hindi pa ako na kain, no wonder that's why my stomach keeps on making noise, gutom na pala ako masyado akong na focus sa pag aaral.
"Miss Kasey may phone call po kayo, naiwan nyo po itong cellphone nyo sa dining table kanina " one of our maid said nang lumabas ako ng kwarto ko.
"okay, thanks" I said as i get the phone from her, i even forgot about my phone naiwan ko nga pala to sa dining table kaninang umaga.
"moshi moshi ?" (translation: hello; Japanese term use to say hello over the phone)
"huh?!, hey Kasey what did you say?" the person from the other line said
"i'm sorry, ikaw pala Cherry, napatawag ka?" akala ko naman si kuya na
"are you free tomorrow afternoon?" h
"tomorrow?, Oo bakit?"
"i just want to invite you, tayong tatlo ni Denise, gala lang"
"Ok"
"Wah!, Ok, promise yan ha, ok tomorrow 10 am, text ko na lang sayo kung saan"
"o-ok" then she hang up the call
"It seems na may mga kaibigan ka na sa school ah" si lolo pala
"opo" i said in a low tone voice,
I know what hes pointing out and i don't want to talk about it anymore, i'm not comfortable
"oh, your frowning again, wag mo na kasing isipin yun, past is past, ok" naka ngiti nyang sambit as he poke my left cheek
"pero lolo-" i was cut off because my lolo suddenly shout.
"AH!, I remembered, may ipapakilala pala ako sayo,"
"sino po yun lo?" kunot noo kong tanong
"you will know him soon,he was the same age as you, i hope you will be friends with him, i need to go now, may meeting pa ako" then ayun umalis na sya after nya akong i-kiss sa noo, si lolo talaga.
"ok po" mahina kong sambit bago pa sya tuluyang maka labas ng bahay.
Him? It means lalaki ang ipapakilala nya, but why?, he even knew my condition, but why?
The next day, I meet Denise and Cherry sa mall malapit saamin, we chat, eat, shop and play all day long, i never thought na mapapabili ako ng di oras ngayon.
While on our way home tumigil na muna kami sa isang bench sa park kalapit ng mall, masakit na kasi paa namin kakalakad mag hapon, feeling ko matatanggal na yung paa ko, may mga paltos na nga ata ako eh. But, im so happy to be with this two, being with them keep me at ease, besides i got to know them more.
"So you mean ang kuya mo ay model slash singer slash dancer slash actor and now he is managing your restaurant in Japan even though he has a very busy schedule,wow! You're really different from us"Cherry said in loud voice
"sshh, pwede bang hinaan mo yung boses mo" ayan napuna tuloy ni Denise
"yeah, di lang naman sya ang nagma-manage ng restaurants namin dun, pati uncle ko, they were helping him since that was our family business" i said,
Paano ba napunta sa akin ang usapan na to.
"kung model ang kuya mo, ikaw model ka din ba dun?"curious na tanong ni Cherry
"i used to be a model but i stop being a model"
"bakit naman?"
Di ata maubos ang tanong ni Cherry, ano ba to interview about sa buhay ko, hot seat?.
"some things came up, tama na nga to, feeling ko nasa hot seat ako eh"
"o-ok, tara na uwi na tayo, may pasok pa tayo bukas" Cherry said as she stand up and face us.
"matanong ko lang bakit kayo nandito ng lolo mo eh nandun naman ang pamilya nyo sa Japan?" pag uusisa naman ni Denise
"h-ha?, kasi gusto ni lolo at saka nandito kasi ang grandparents ko, ang parents ni mama, kaya ayun, teka nga tama na tong tanungan portion nyo sa akin" pagdadahilan ko at pag iiba ko ng usapan.
I can't tell them now the real reason why I'm here with my grandfather. There's no need to tell them.
"ok" they both said.
For two months na magkakasama kami ngayon lang nila yun naisipang itanong. Well pakialam ko ba.
Then after that umuwi na kami, pag uwi ko wala pa si lolo, and since busog naman na ako di na ako nag dinner instead dumiretso na ako sa kwarto ko para mag shower and get ready to sleep.
"Let go of me!, let go of me!" I shouted while crying.
"sshh.. Stop crying Kasey, we will live together from now on, your mine right!, your mine, you are the only one for me, so stop crying ok, Kasey's mine and no one can get you away from me," the man said to me while combing my hair as he laugh hysterically
I can't move, I cant scream either, I was scared, all I can do is to cry, while he was slowly moving his hands through my body.
"LET GO OF ME!!!!!!"
"apo, your having a nightmare, here uminom ka na muna ng tubig" nag aalalang sambit ni lolo ng tulungan nya akong umupo ng maayos at abutan ng tubig.
"Ojichan!" i hug him and there i start to cry
(Translation: Ojichan - grandpa/lolo)
"sshh.. Wag ka ng umiyak, nandito lang si lolo, saka panaginip lang yun, ok, halika ka na, umaga na oh, may pasok ka pa di ba, sige na bumangon ka na, aantayin kita sa dining table, ako ang mag da-drive para sayo ngayon, kaya sige na maligo ka na, pawis na pawis ka na rin" sabi ni lolo as he gently rub my back to calm me down
"opo"
Panaginip lang pala.
Pati ba naman sa panaginip ko?, kailan ba ako lulubayan ng masamang panaginip na iyon?.
The next day, after I finished preparing myself bumaba na ako sa dining area.
"lolo, tumawag na sayo si kuya?"
"Hindi pa eh, maybe he was too busy right now"
"ganun po ba" may bahid ng lungkot at tampo kong sambit.
"you're already seventeen and still ang kalat mo pa rin kumain, look my may gatas ka pa sa labi" ang natutuwang sambit naman ni lolo
"sumimasen" I simply said as I wipe the milk on my lips
(translation: sumimasen means sorry in Japanese)
After we ate our breakfast ipinag-drive na ako ni lolo hanggang school, saying that he just want and feel to drive me off to school.
