How would they bring the moon down from the sky? That was a question that Arthur needed to answer to resolve this problem.
The question appeared to be a dead-end question because that was something that was not even possible in the real world, however, the catch was they were not in the real world. Since they were technically inside a painting, so perhaps there was an unconventional way to go about this.
Arthur turned to ask Lady Myra for some opinion. "Lady Myra, it is basically confirmed that what we are looking for is inside this moon. Do you have any idea how we will be able to reach it?"
This was not something that Lady Myra had to normally consider. Then again, the question would seem preposterous to anyone.
Lady Myra's face scrunched up in concentration. Then she gave an idea that was voiced in much uncertainty, "Perhaps you'll be able to shoot it down? Like with an arrow or something?"
Lady Myra was expecting Arthur to shoot an arrow at the moon and then the moon would puncture and leak like a balloon and fall to the ground. Well, that was a creative idea for sure.
However, where was Arthur going to find an arrow? He was not an archer, his only weapon was his voice. Furthermore, if he did have a bow and arrow, how was he going to shoot the arrow until it managed to reach the moon that was hanging in the sky. The moon might look deceptively close but it was still way up there in the sky.
Arthur told Lady Myra about the problem in her idea but Lady Myra corrected his misconception about something. "Not everything is what it seems. After all, we are inside a painted world so do not use your preconceived notion to make sense of what you see here. Perhaps the moon is not deceptively close but actually closer to us than you might think."
That led to a light bulb moment within Arthur. He had to admit Lady Myra had a point.
After he shifted his perspective, Arthur came up with an idea. It was an idea that was as ludicrous as the need to bring the moon down.
Since his weapon was his voice, then Arthur was going to try to shout the moon down.
Arthur had given it some thought, the limit of the distance for which he could throw his voice was 30 metres. The moon might look far away but as Lady Myra said, they were technically inside a painting and the painting itself was just around 1.5 metre wide. Therefore, the moon was within the range of his power.
Arthur took in a deep breath and tried to accomplish something that he never thought he would ever attempt in his life. He utilized the power of [Voice Throwing] and shouted at the moon. The source of his voice he placed behind the moon as he tried to push it to the ground.
The moon shuddered. There was a huge strain on Arthur's throat. It felt like he was trying to move a large boulder, hard but not impossible.
The sound of Arthur's voice grew louder and the moon started to inch towards the ground.
Lady Myra held her breath as she watched this spectacle that was happening before her. Yes, she knew they were not in the real world but this attempt was still nothing short of being miraculous.
As the moon got knocked off its place in the sky, it became larger and larger in Lady Myra and Arthur's eyes. It felt as if the moon was hurtling towards them. It was a curious sensation to have.
Lady Myra resisted the urge to escape. If the moon crashed on them, they would be seriously injured but for some reason, she had faith in the young adventurer next to her.
Reality proved that Lady Myra was right. Perhaps the moon was originally already so close to them, it only grew to a certain size before it collided with the surface they were on.
The ground trembled and Lady Myra tried her best to not tumble to the ground. Arthur who was still maintaining the power of his shout planted his feet firmly onto the ground.
The collision was not as dramatic as Arthur envisioned. Arthur stopped his voice and they could hear a silvery tingle that was echoing through the world. This proved the hollowness of the moon.
Even with the reality sitting right before his eyes, Arthur still had a hard time believing he had done what he just did. He really did shout the moon down from the sky!
The tingle eventually faded away and everything was silent once more. Now that the moon was down from the sky, the ground was not as lit as before. Earlier, everything was washed in the shade of whitish gold but now the color was concentrated on the orb of whiteness that was nestled in the ground several feet ahead of them.
The edge of the area faded into darkness as the light pooled around the moon. The horizon disappeared and instantly, it felt like the place had shrunk.
"Now, what are we supposed to do?" Arthur heard Lady Myra ask in a whispered voice. There was a sense of ceremony about the whole thing.
Arthur had no idea to that question either. He was as clueless as Lady Myra was, this was unexplored territory for him as well.
Arthur was going to suggest they move forward to give the moon a closer look when the surface of the moon started to crack. Spidery veins ran up the side of the moon and it felt like the moon was caving under the pressure. It looked like an egg being cracked open from inside.
Arthur did not quite know what to expect when he was calling the moon down from the sky but he definitely was not expecting this. The moon was shattering?!
