His response really makes me feel very agitated. What kind of husband will he be in my future? So easily discarded his intended bride with another woman, not to mention, the other woman happens to be the bride's younger sister!
Sis Gie? Is this the reason why you run away? I really cannot comprehend Sis Gie's behavior. Or is this some sort of shotgun marriage? Then, won't it become more complicated if I agree with this crazy plan?
"Did you impregnate my big sister? Is that the reason for this sudden marriage?" I cannot help myself from accusing him, because anything else sounds illogical to me.
"No."
That one word alone makes me feel overwhelmed with relief.
"Then why you want to marry my sister? Why now? I never knew of your existence until last week."
"That's between me and your sister."
My forehead started to feel throbbed, an early sign the migraine. The one that will make me feel like someone cracked my head open with an axe will come sooner. My right hand slowly massage the area behind my neck, hoping to chase it away.
"What is your answer?"
Must I do this? But I owe it too much of Father to reject it. If this only needs me to get married and divorced later, I don't think father will argue further, hopefully. At least the groom in front of me don't spit nonsense like married him and borne children for him, won't he?
Just the thought alone gave me chills.
"You said you need a bride. Why? How long I need to stay married to you? Please don't said I also need to give birth to your son whatsoever."
"It's complicated and to make a long story short, you only have a few minutes to decide."
WTF?! That much explained nothing! Why pressure me so much?
Before I even opened my mouth, a very thick paper was shoved at me from the right side. I turn sideways and it was the two companions of him from the living room. One of them wears the spectacles, also void with emotion still holding the thick paper. Apparently, he is waiting for me to take it from his hand. At least, the third companion with a blond hair show apologetic expression. But that gesture alone cannot cool my anger even a slightest. This three-to-one formation against me truly unfair! I must retaliate.
"Siti!" I raised my voice a bit.
Siti comes close to my right side and tries to that pile of paper from that man. But that man didn't want to hand over it to Siti and keep staring at me.
"Fine," I muttered and taking those paper reluctantly.
"Siti, please escort this two gentleman outside."
I know I can't keep them away from eavesdropping our argument, but my brain can work better if the room less crowded. Not to mention feeling uncomfortable when three pairs of eyes keep staring at you. It doesn't matter if those three is handsome or not!
I looked down at this thick pile of paper. The cover page letters spelling "Prenuptial Agreement" keep screaming at my eyes.
"And you have 8 minutes to decide".
My head snaps up and looks at the man in front of me. He casually looked at his wristwatch.
"Minus 10 second now."
Looking back at the thick pile of paper, I know I won't finish reading it even if you give me 15 minutes. Let alone read and give an answer straight away within 7 minutes 50 seconds!
