Capítulo 66: For the rest of our eternity together

She narrows her eyes, not believing his words. Is he tricking her again? Didn't he say earlier that he would own her? Why did he suddenly change his words? She can sense his longing and sorrow. He is lying unmoving on her, lightly holding her waist and waiting for her to do it. She doesn't move either, confused.

"Is this all of it?" He bites her earlobe hard in annoyance when she doesn't push him away. She cries out in pain. It bothers him. He sucks on to it to ease up the pain. He hears her soft breathing. She peers at him with a flushed face.

"Don't you understand my words?" His eyes gleam red again. "Push me away, Huang Qiuyan. Only one light push is enough to send me away from you. If you don't push me away now, I will burn you in the flame of the passion that I feel for you for the rest of our eternity together."

Her human life is over. It is something that can't be changed. She's a vampire -- a converted vampire. She's his true mate -- his only. However, there's a barrier between them. Her past human life is obstructing her from surrendering herself to him and accepting him completely. Her human intangible emotions and insecurities are stopping her from accepting what she feels for him. If that's what she wants, he will give her a chance.

The true bond may have brought them together, but these feelings are true between them.

"Show me your will." He suppresses his pressure on her. She feels lighter now. Maybe he's going to regret this. Maybe he won't. He only wants her to understand and stop running away from her feelings for him. Passion is only the beginning. "Fight it if you can. You drank my blood. Your strength has improved. You aren't an average vampire either. I can sense the magic in you. Huang Qiuyan, if you don't push me away once while I make your body surrender to me again, doesn't it mean that these feelings aren't artificial?"

She can't answer his mocking question. She lifts her hand to reject him. A light push is all that is needed. Even if it turns out to be a lie, she wants to push him away. She can fight the bond and these unnatural feelings that don't belong to her. She doesn't want him. He stares into her eyes. His dark eyes are unreadable as his anger subsides with bottomless sorrow.

He waits.

He's been living for a long time. He's used to waiting. Time flows endlessly. He doesn't know how long he will live in this forsaken world. His daughter is mortal and she will leave the world before him. He can't do anything about it. His mate might be a near-immortal being, but she doesn't want him.

It would have been better if he had never met her. He has lived for more than 4000 years. Living for another 4000 years without a true mate wouldn't be any different. Now, he's bound to this pain and suffering.

Huang Qiuyan's hand tremble. She swallows as she feels the immense sadness flowing through the bond. Though Fu Sheng is suppressing himself as much as he can, he can't undo all of it. He's a pureblood who has lived for more than 4000 years. In the last 4000 years, he has seen and done a lot. He lost his kins to humans. He's used to pain. It's nothing new.

Weariness takes over him. Perhaps, it's his pride. He feels like ripping his heart out and stop feeling. Yes, pain is more natural than love for him. He can live a content life with Fu Mian, even if his true mate doesn't want him. He might need her, but he is too proud to fight for her heart after hearing her words. He's giving her a chance to reject him formally because she's not his equal yet.
