Even though Iris was already married and had children, she was actually still quite inexperienced when it came to courtships and romantic relationships. Her only lover was Jin Liwei. 

How they got together, and most importantly, how they stayed together until now weren't exactly the typical way. She could only speak from her own firsthand experience which might be unreliable because other people were in different situations compared to her and her husband.

In the end, Iris called Dom to come and help her. The two of them dished out some suggestions on how Lin Yehan could effectively court Jiang Ying Yue without scaring her. 

It wasn't Iris' intention to go over Jiang Ying Yue's head and decide that Lin Yehan was the right man for her. That wasn't the case at all.
