"James, it's time to go. Hurry up!" James saw the young man Daniel standing at the gate with a small group of other youths.
"You know, normally people turn up early for things like this, but what else can we expect." One of the young men who was standing around with an arrogant look on his face said this clearly trying to belittle James.
"I wouldn't recommend it; I'd change your attitude before you end up sorry about it." Locating the source of the voice, James realised it was the young man James had seen the other day Daniel who was warning the boy.
"What the hell do you know, you think he can touch me with my father around?"
"Then, by all means, give it a go. But don't say I didn't warn you."
"Tell me, what makes you so special that I have to watch myself around you?" The boy turned towards James with a ridiculing look. He didn't believe James could hurt him in any way.
"I really can't be bothered to go through this childish bullshit, if you want to find a problem with me then stop looking and just fight. I don't get why you all have to maintain these attitudes until someone beats it out of you."
Hearing James say this, the boy inferred that James had beaten the attitude out of Daniel. Although he had no marks on him, James must have done something to make Daniel wary of him.
"Hmph, such a haughty attitude, all talk I'm sure."
"Oh, just leave it, Sebastian. Why do you have to insist on being so loud all the time." A girl stepped forward to reprimand Sebastian giving James a friendly smile and a nod as she did it.
"Ugh, fine."
'So either he likes that girl, or she's not someone he can afford to ignore. Or both, I wonder which it is. Although, if he does like her he's probably going to like me even less now.'
'Oh yeah, system show my stats please, worth keeping a record before I enter the school I guess.'

[As the host awakened each element, elemental particles spread through your body, each wave fine-tuned your body. The fires element removed impurities; waters rejuvenated the cells. The system speculates that each element has a different yet beneficial effect on the host's body.]
'Damn, that's good to know. Was it fully efficient? Like did the fire remove all impurities or only a portion of them?'
[System believes the full effect of each element has yet to be reached by a large margin.]
'Tell me if this has any effect' James began circulating the fire elemental particles he had stored around his body, he made sure to sweep over every single cell in his body.
[Host has successfully recreated the effects of the awakening, the results have been furthered after this run, although it is by a small amount.]
'Even if it's by a small amount. It just means I need to circulate it a lot.'
James formed an amalgam of his powers in perfect balance and sent it rampaging through his body, he closed his eyes and followed the particles with his mind.
James could feel the changes happening in his body; they were getting more and more apparent the longer he ran his test.
For the last while, James had been out of it conducting his test, when he came back to, he saw the young man Daniel standing right in front of him.
"You do know I'm not attracted to men right?"
"What are you saying, I was just wondering why you zoned out all of a sudden, Emily was talking to you-you know. And I could do better anyway." Judging by Daniels facial expression that last part was just meant as a joke.
"Sorry, what did you say?" James turned his gaze towards a girl with big brown eyes that she was using to glare at him. Apparently, she didn't like to be ignored.
"I asked if you are James Reel, the one recommended by Mr Garrett."
"Oh yeah, that's me. Why? Do you know Joshua?"
"Who are you to call him by his first name? Imprudent!"
"I mean, he told me to call him that, what's the problem with it?"
"Even if he permits you, shouldn't you reject the opportunity? There's too much of a difference in status, you might have impressed him, but there's no way you stand equal to an imperial tutor!"
"He's an imperial tutor!? You've got to be kidding me. He never mentioned anything."
It seemed that Joshua was testing James' potential and could have recommended him to the academy at any point in time instead of getting him to raise his status first.
'Ugh, so much wasted time and effort, well I suppose it was close to what I would have wanted to achieve anyway. At least I have a powerful backer now, seems like a bonus in the end.'
"Alright, that's enough. It's time to head to the academy, and if I find any of you fighting during the Journey, I will personally make sure you don't get into the academy."
Joshua had arrived at the youths squabbling with each other, and he wasn't happy about it so decided to lay down an ultimatum. Be quiet or turn back.
"Let's go, everyone, we should be able to make it within a few days if we move quickly."
'Oh great, a few days with these people, this isn't going to be fun is it.'
[System recommends the host to use this time to refine his control over the elemental particles.]
'Well, I suppose I can do that. Should probably make a few more tattoos in the meantime, I can probably make a defensive shield over time, so if I get attacked it won't even hit me and be deflected, that would be cool.
Actually, can you make a macro to determine the exact force from an opponents attack and match it with the output of my powers.'
[Hosts request is possible, but the level of control is not yet available to the system, the host will have to upgrade the system to gain that level of control.]
'Well, for now, create the macro but exceed the estimated force of the attack by a bit to be safe.'

keyboardcoronary Sorry for not releasing yesterday, spent like the entire day driving and moving stuff, still getting settled in my new place so might be a bit off schedule for the next few days.
I have no backlog on chapters so unless I write it on the day I don't have anything to release, unfortunately. But from now I will aim for 1 chapter a day, and if I have time, I will release a second one.
