Capítulo 67: A Day In The Night 2

After ensuring the girls had gone to their room, Cally stepped out on to the balcony. It was late stars were shining overhead but there was not enough ambient light to brighten all the dark corners. In the darkest corner there was a black void. A space that was devoid of any color. "You know, if the girls had seen you they would have totally freaked out."

"By shield of day, and shield of night, We feed and grow, beyond all sight, Your darkest self shall be our knight, Wield the sword of unseen light!" (1) Saying these ambiguous words, Cally slowly approached the huge wolf. Marcus was in his full wolf form. He was as black as pitch and based on his outline, giant. Transformed size doesn't always equal the human size. She stared at him. She was fighting herself badly. She wanted to fall to the floor and give him her belly. She wasn't afraid. No, she hadn't been afraid in thousands of years but she wanted to be, needed to be lesser to his Alpha wolf.

Slowly, as she approached he left his dark corner. Coming into the light from the patio door, she could see he was solid black. He was easily seven feet in length and weighed an impressive 200 pounds or 91 kg. Cally hadn't seen him in this form and she was blown away. His eyes were more golden in this form than his normal brown with gold flecks. Magnificent.

Unable to stare down into his eyes another moment, she fell to her knees before him. This put her head slightly under his. He looked down at her and leaned forward to smell her neck. Marcus was satisfied, she wasn't afraid. Because of who and what he was so many were terrified of him. Fear was a bitter acrid smell. She smelled of excitement and more.

She reached her hands into his fur, below his ears. He was so soft and he smelled like the night wind. He smelled like a long forgotten dream. Unable to bear it she buried her face into his neck and just breathed him in. She surprised him yet again by saying, "I've missed you! My Gods, how I have missed you!" She ran her small little hands over his neck, muzzle, face and ears. Then she softly sang a piece of a song into his ears,

" tigers come at night

With their voices soft as thunder

As they tear your hope apart

As they turn your dream to shame

He slept a summer by my side

He filled my days with endless wonder

He took my childhood in his stride

But he was gone when autumn came" (2)

Again she buried her face into his fur. He was uncertain of why but it was obvious Cally's emotions were running high. After a few more minutes he pulled back out of her grasp. He walked over to the balcony wall and looked back at her, he let out a loud sharp bark. As if to say 'Come on.' Cally sat back and looked at him. She wiped her face, even though there were no tears. "All right! You want to go for a run? Just try to keep up!"

Cally quickly dropped all her clothes and transformed from one moment to the next. The original quick change artist. Her wolf form was dazzling in the night. Her white coloring was a perfect compliment to his black. The yin to his yang. Two, tall, scary to behold wolves jumped in unison to the ground below and disappeared into the night.
