Present Day…..
Lowen and Paslik were really scared. They had never seen Sammy angry. After all, for the last 3 years, Sammy had looked for Robbie but failed. They had been lying to him that ISSR was trying their best to find Robbie while they were the ones responsible for the public kidnapping of Robbie and soul transfer of Robbie and Blake.
Lowen: "I am really sorry but we couldn't tell you anything. Even I learned of this today morning only"
Sammy: "What? So it was done by Paslik alone and you didn't know anything?"
Lowen: "Yes."
Sammy: "Paslik, why Robbie? He was supposed to be an intelligence agent, not a soldier to be sent on covert missions".
Paslik: "Listen you don't need to know everything. You are after all just a moneymaker"
Sammy went into rage mode and turned into a winged guardian, with grey wings and red eyes.
"Don't mess with me. Robbie is my best friend and I need to know everything", Sammy yelled which became more of a growl. Paslik immediately tried to take Sammy into his mind room but his rage was blocking his psychic link.
"Sammy, calm down. I will explain everything" Paslik pleaded. After Sammy calmed down to his human form, Paslik took both Sammy and Lowen into his mind room.
Paslik: "Sammy, we are so sorry to have kept you in the dark. The thing is, you were already exposed to the intelligence circle of our enemy and as a result, informing you of our plans would have resulted in possible leakage of info. Since it was a top-secret mission, only I, Robbie and the head of ISSR were involved."
Sammy: "So you don't trust me?"
Paslik: "Of course we trust you. The thing is after you both were exposed to that DNA enhancement ray and had your abilities unlocked, your recent adventures have caught the attention of the enemy.
Sammy: "They were trying to interrogate and kill me. I had to use my abilities and power to save myself"
Paslik: "and we totally understand it. But involving you would have caused them to think Robbie is an ability user too"
Sammy, although angry couldn't say anything else. He looked at Paslik and then Lowen with an inquisitive look, before saying, "Fine. I guess I have to get involved now"
Paslik, with an apologetic look, exclaimed, "Yes finally you are in. It was hard hiding everything from you. Also, we require you to go to Tokyo to meet the Diviner."
4 years back in the past…..
Lowen took Sammy and Robbie on a ride, with Robbie blindfolded. When asked, Lowen replied with a single sentence, "Have Patience."
After traveling for almost 2 hours, Lowen finally stopped his vehicle and then Sammy opened Robbie's blindfold. Robbie found himself in a large underground bunker. He had never in his life seen such an establishment.
Sammy whispered to Robbie, "Isn't this place awesome?"
Robbie was mesmerized to even say anything. He had a look of wonder and surprise. Lowen then came after parking his car and yelled at them, "Guys we are late for the initiation. Come quickly."
Robbie and Sammy followed lowen into a huge conference room. It was a big room with a big LED TV and a long table but with no chairs. They went ahead to stand near lowen, while Lowen entered his credentials into the laptop attached to the TV. After some time, the TV automatically was switched on. On the TV, They only saw a dark silhouette sitting on the chair in a dark room. Due to the low brightness of room on another side as well as no light falling on the man's face, they couldn't see the person on the other end. What they saw was only a silhouette.
Lowen: "Let me introduce you to the head of ISSR. As per our protocol, only inner members and ability users are allowed to meet him personally. Otherwise, you will address him as such. Hereon you may call him boss or head, but nothing else."
Sammy: "Hi Boss. This is my friend Robbie and our newest Recruit."
Robbie: "Hi Sir. Robbie here. Nice to meet you. Hope you will take good care of me."
Then the TV was switched off and Lowen gave out a huge sigh.
Robbie: "Everything ok? Why was the Connection cut off? Any problem?"
Lowen: "Not at all. The purpose of this meeting was to introduce you to the head. His ability is eidetic memory, medically termed as hyperthymesia. Now that he has seen you and not said anything means that he has given his approval. Welcome formally to ISSR.
Robbie: "Thanks again. Sammy, did you also go through this? Why didn't you tell me?"
Sammy: "Come on. You must understand by now that there are some protocols that need to be followed. Eventually, you will learn everything regarding ISSR, as per your access level"
Robbie: "Access Level? What's that?"
Lowen: "Let me explain. In this organization, they are 3 region levels - city, state, and country. At each geographical level, there are 4 access levels – Novice, Beginner, Peak, and Expert. Total there are 12 access levels in each country. Currently, you are the city – novice level. Here you will be subjected to multiple physical, mental and psychological tests. If you pass them with flying colours, you will then have to take a lot of classes and tutorials regarding basic protocols and undergo survival training. If you manage to complete it all, then you will advance to City – beginner level, after which you will be assigned missions to complete, based on your scores and interests."
Robbie: "What level are you both?"
Sammy: "Lowen is at State – Beginner level and I am at city – peak level"
Lowen: "Here, take your ID card. Make sure to keep it close to your skin during your sleep. After a few days, the card will get imprinted to you, allowing you to get access to everything automatically. In exactly 1 week, next Sunday, come to the office at 10 am sharp. Show your ID to get directions to the bus, which will take you to the training site. In case of any further questions, call Sammy and in case of an emergency, break the card into 2 and help will arrive immediately. "
Lowen then turned to Sammy, "I have a lot of info to submit. Here take my keys and take Robbie back. Then call me on the communicator. See you later Robbie and hope you survive." Then he turned and went outside the room.
Robbie exclaimed, "Hey wait….." before realizing that Lowen had gone out at an incredible speed, almost as if he is a superhuman.
