Capítulo 2: Chapter 2:
It started off when we were just pre-school kids, going to the same pre-school.
Our pre-school was located near our homes. Back then, Jason and I just live across the streets. I remembered that I would always come by his house to play, after pre-school in the morning. I would go to his house after lunch at home. My grandma would send me to his house and told me to be safe and play well before bidding farewell.
We did many childish things together as kids and got into so much trouble. We were literally like criminals in cahoots. Young and wild, crazy enough to do things without thinking of the consequences. However, we often got away with our cute little antics and pitiful pleas. Our parents would always end up with a soft heart and just told us not to do it again.
We often took naps together too and I would have some light snacks before going back home. One thing I'd never forget was his shy expression asking "Do you really have to go?" everytime it was time to go home. I'd reach out my tiny chubby hands to gently tussle his hair and whisper into his ears that I'd be back tomorrow again. A wide grin will be instantly plastered onto his face as he waved me good bye relunctantly. My heart would tremble slightly as a fuzzy feeling engulfed my entire being. Back then, I only thought of this as a feeling of happiness. Nothing more, nothing less.
After I went home, I would think of looking forward to meeting Jason at pre-school again tomorrow. Night fell as soon as day went. My parents came home together so that we could have dinner together. Over the dinner table, I would mention about my day in pre-school and mostly, Jason.
My parents saw how sociable I became after going to pre-school and was proud of me. "Jaselle, you did a great job at school today! I am glad you've come out of your conservative mindset and even made a new friend! Both your dad and I are really amazed and happy for you!" My mum exclaimed with joy as she said.
Ostensibly, I was also ecstatic being praised and I was even more motivated to make more friends after being encouraged to step out of my comfort zone.
