At The Crown, Julianna felt like a queen.
She knew that the women in the ballroom looked down on her because she was not a part of the elite. She was not married to a powerful man and did not spend her days shopping and pretending to care about things that mattered.
However, she could see the envy.
Being part of the elite families in Tokyo came with a lot of perks, but it restricted their freedom. These women did not have much to do in their real lives. Their husbands were busy, their houses were full of employees, and their children were detached.
They could only fill their lives with brunches and charities they made up.
As she mingled, she could see how they looked at her. The disdain was coloured by jealousy because she was a self-made woman.
"Ms. Mori, thank you for making time to see us." The president of the charity appeared before her with a smile.
"Please call me Julianna," The response was polite but friendly.
