Capítulo 29: A Poem
A poem is best shared with others. That could be because I'm just a fan of sharing in general. Sharing something you love with someone else and having them love it too is just a great feeling in general. But I'm not falling for General Distraction's tactics now, we're still talking about poetry here, or at least I am. I'm not sure what anyone else is talking about, because I'm just tucked away writing in my corner about poems.
Poetry is strange you know because where is its rhyme or reason and sometimes rhythm? Sometimes it has all three, and other times you're not sure it has any, but it still feels like a poem. It confuses me, but it's still so much fun to write a review for the sleep deprived author writing late into the night. I definitely meant poetry, but sometimes life just spirals out control, or at least your fingers do because you're typing tired again. Why do I do this to myself?
But there's a lot of different types of poetry: freestyle, spoken poetry, shape poetry, all the types with names that dictates the rhyme, reason, or rhythm of the poem, unless you of course ignore the rules and do whatever you want with your poem. And then it falls into a different category of poem, or you make a new type of poem, which can be fun and exciting in its own way. Partially in its chaos and partially in its creation, making something new that no one else has seen or made before: it can be quite thrilling.
Poetry is also freeing. Penning the words of your soul, setting them free, creating mystery, or causing chaos with nonsense lets you express yourself in such a way that's normal writing usually can't. Music without notes speaking the lyrics of your soul. It's wonderful.
