With the godly duel heating up in the sky, the battlefield below did the same. Three dragons were fighting with their lives on the line, as well as a lv. 89 berserker that was possessed by the increasing pace of his battle.
Hadurt was all smiles while he continued to test his draconic opponent. His black halberd carved through the heated, vaporized breath attacks of the Flood Dragon. In Hadurt's eyes, this was the perfect chance to test his skills.
'Karronteel, how about a race?'
'What do you mean?' asked the Spectral Dragon, focusing on defending himself.
'I bet I can kill mine first.'
'I accept your challenge!' Karronteel shouted telepathically, followed by his mighty roar.
Riled up even more, Hadurt's smile turned demonic. The demonic energy started to seep into Hadurt's character along with his body. His sanity was still fully intact but Hadurt had given in to his current emotions. He wanted to slay the dragon.
Sorry for the single chapter. I'm busy choreographing the rest of the fights, at least that's part of the reason...
**I'll be honest with you all since you've been so amazing. It's hard to write Achievement Junkie. Not in the sense of storytelling, world-building, and etc. but in the sense of being motivated. I'll name the 3 biggest reasons.
1- AJ consistently underperforms, especially compared to how my paused story performed. It's been stagnant on the power ranking and struggling to get new readers. But the absolute worst is the retention rate. For those few new readers we get, the retention rate after six days of reading is 1%... Yeah...
2- It's an extremely original story. I refuse to be a copy cat or reskin the same story over and over. But that's a double-edged sword. It makes expectations of the story all the worse and most readers don't even make it far enough to learn my true writing style, which is also greatly due to my imperfections and faults as an author, especially when I was less experienced at the start of the novel.
3- I'll never have a better rating or much of a positive outlook on reviews. Unlike top authors, I refuse to delete negative reviews that offer any sort of feedback, even if the reviewer only read 2 chapters and said "Bad MC". If you look at my reviews, the most liked and agreed with ones are clearly the negative ones, which only makes the new readers and retention rates all the worse...
NO, I'm not dropping this. I refuse. I will finish this and update daily. You all deserve that. I just thought you also deserved to know why sometimes you've gotten fewer chapters out of the blue or why I've debated returning to 2 daily chapters. I'll try my best to just focus on the story and not the statistics, but that's hard when I want to do this full-time... Sorry for rambling...
