Capítulo 107: Chapter 26: Fifth Door
As that red energy invades my bloodstream I feel burning sensation within my soul. I feel as if something malignant is entering my very soul. And it makes my blood boil. It feels as it molten lava is coursing through my veins.
Is that it. Did he curse with his curse? Am I gonna transform into a werewolf? More it continues more I feel as if I don't feel comfortable in my own skin. Because of that, I start to claw at my skin. This reminds me of a certain movie from Alex's memories.
Still, that is not the important part. What is more important is that, I fell something else within my soul. Something invading my soul, my very essence.
I try to resist that something with all my strength. As I resist that something with all my power, I feel something happening in my soul. So, I enter my Soul Palace.
And I see what is happening. My whole Soul Palace is invaded by the same red energy that the duke's bite. That red energy is floating inside my Soul Palace like the blood miasma.
While standing within it, I see what is changing in my soul. My fifth door is finally opening. Its color changes from its initial color to ominous black. The picture on it turns into some kind of black skull.
And as soon as my sixth door finishes changing, the red mist floating inside my Soul Palace gets sucked into it. And the I stop feeling something invading my soul anymore.

Curse of the ancient? What the hell is that? Anyway, now that the curse is out of my soul, I need to see what is happening out there.
I exit my Soul Palace and see what is happening. I already turned into a werewolf. I can't see myself but my snout tells me enough. But what is strange is: I seem to be incapable of controlling my body. It is actually kind of like when I watched Alex and Alder's memories.
I look to outside with first person perspective. And what is most problematic is that I'm kneeling before the duke and he is holding his claws up my throat.
"Back off. Or else I will kill you master!"
He shouts toward Fenrir and Noir. And they are just standing there hesitating what to do. As soon as I see that, I beckon to them from within my Soul Palace and they hear my call.
They enter the fourth door as soon as they hear me. After making sure they are fine, I try to exit my Soul Palace and find myself in exactly same situation.
"Good they gave up. Now let's kill him."
The son comes to me with his claws out. But the duke stops him.
"Why are you stopping me, father? He killed mother and Vivian!"
"I know, my son. Which is precisely he will not just die. He will wish he was dead."
They revert back to humans and lets me see an ugliest grin I've ever seen. And I saw Grinch smile.
"Follow me."
As the duke commands, my body moves on its own and follows the duke. I need to do something soon or else I really might end up dead.
I enter my Soul Palace again and come before my fifth gate. While standing in front of it I feel that same malignant feeling coming from behind my door.
I guess I need to kill whatever's behind this door to free myself. I push it open and enter the door. White space like my fourth doors before I changed it. But what's inside is vastly different.
I see a feral werewolf staring at me. There is no mind in that thing.
"So, you are the one who is on control of my body?"
Yup, no answer. Just a mindless beast. I guess I need to kill it. I try to make something inside this door and fail. I guess I need to kill you with my own two hands to get my body back.
Wolf attacks me. It runs on it four legs and runs toward me with its mouth drooling. This idiot actually believes that it can defeat me inside my own soul.
It lunges at me with its ugly maw open to bite me. I let it bite me on my shoulder. After getting bit on my shoulder I tackle it down and push it onto the ground.
After pushing it onto the ground, I start to go to the town on it. I keep hitting it across its snout. It whimpers like a lost dog.
After pounding the dog for almost ten minutes, its head looks like a pancake.
"What? You thought you could control me? Did you believe that you can take over my soul? Huh!"
More I think, more I get angry. Anything other than my reason controlling my action is absolutely unacceptable.
But its head starts to heal. I see same red energy reconstructing its head again. And as soon as I saw that, I start to hit it again. This time every time I punch the wolf's head, a little bit of red energy leaks out and that leaked energy dissipates.
I don't think this red energy will last long, so I will keep pounding it until it runs out. And beating the shit out of this wolf is unexpectedly calming me down.
After twenty minutes of pounding on the wolf's head, the red energy finally runs out and wolf's head stops getting reconstructed. And the wolf's body dissipates into nothingness. Whoo, that was relaxing. I feel like a new person. Hehe.
I turn around to exit the room and just as I was about to open the door, I hear something behind. As I turn back, I see the werewolf standing there again. But this time its eyes are closed and I don't feel the same repulsion I felt toward the previous wolf.
What is this? I can figure out what it is later.
But for now, I need to take care of whatever's happening outside. I exit my Soul Palace after exiting my fifth door. And this time, I'm in control. That is more like it.
As soon as I gained control, I see what is going on. I'm in what seems to be an underground dungeon surrounded by a bunch of torture tools. I'm still a werewolf.
Duke and his son are standing in front of me with a knife. And I see that they have broken all my fingers. At least ones on my right hand. After doing that they pluck out all my finger nails.
And now they are digging into my stomach. I think they dug into it quite a few times seeing the guts lying on the floor. Along with my own vitality and the enhancement from the curse, I'm sure I healed at a lightning speed.
And they are going start again. I wonder why they didn't tie me up with something. I suddenly move my hand and strangle the son as he approaches me with a knife in his hand. As soon as I put some strength into my hand, I hear crunching sound as his body goes limp in my hand.
Duke turns around to see his son's lifeless body on the ground dissipating into nothingness and goes into temporary shock.
AAAAAH!
And as soon as he exits that shock he screams and immediately starts to shift. This time he shifts into werewolf with blood red fur and blood red eyes. And attacks me as soon as he finishes shifting.
And for some reason his movement seems slow to me. I guess I did benefit from this curse. And as the duke reaches me I dodge his futile slash. After doing that, I strangle him and lift him up.
He flails in him arm. But he is too weak to make me let go. As he continues to flail futilely, I start to tighten my arm around his neck.
I hear his neck bones breaking in my hand. And after few seconds, I simply crash his neck. He too falls on the ground lifelessly like his son and starts to dissipate.
"You should have killed me when you had the chance."
Now, I managed to kill this floor's boss. So, how do I ascend to the next floor. And just as I was thinking that, I get the familiar disorienting feeling and everything goes black.
