After leaving the castle I head to the run-down mansion I followed the succubus last night. As I expected it's empty. But everything I need is here.
I close my eyes and take a deep breath. As I take a deep breath every smell in here comes into my nose and I start to separate those smells to pinpoint the Tirin. After isolating his scent, I start to follow that scent.
Don't know why, but my sense of smell started to develop like beast's. During my two years travel along the outer region of the forest I managed to learn to use my sense of smell properly. And this is way too convenient for me to not to use.
After following the scent for twenty minutes I come before a magnificent mansion with a guards patrolling. I jump over the fences to sneak inside the mansion. But just as I got near mansion, I sense magic surrounding the mansion.
I activate my mana eyes and see everything from the matrix engraved on the thin layer surrounding the mansion.
If anything enters the mansion through entrance other than the main door, alarm will be triggered. Rewriting the matrix will take too long. So, I guess my only choice is to enter through the main door then.
Shit, this kid is too clever for his own good. There is a matrix at his door too. It will recognize people by their signature that is recorded on them. I guess I will have to waste time on this matrix then.
I come behind the mansion and activate my eyes again. After observing the matrix for a while, I see the program. I may be complicated to others but for me this is child's play.
All I need to do is to find the part that is storing the signatures and add mine in. After doing that I go to the front door again and enter it without problem.
I sense life in only one room. Main lobby. There is ten men sitting around a table. And at the head sits young man I saw night before. Second son of the archduke. Tirin Sylvester.
And I think other men are nobles in his camp.
"Greetings. Gentlemen, let us start our first full meeting."
"Greetings, prince."
All of the nobles stand up and greets the prince.
"Gentlemen, do any one of you know whereabouts of my brother?"
"We don't know prince."
Says the young noble with black hair. Looks like someone important.
"Any news about Moren's assassination?"
"There is something on that side. According to under guild there was a shade possessing Moren and they decided to eliminate it."
Once again important looking guy answers.
"Is that confirmed?"
"Yes, sir. They have the head of the shade."
"Okay then, now for our main discussion. What should I do to inherit my father's title now that he decided to retire. Obviously, we can exclude my brother and little brother from the race. That only leaves my sister. How can I prove to my father that I'm appropriate heir?"
Most typical rotten noble potbelly, greasy hair and look that can strip a woman if it can. Stands up and says.
"How about just eliminating your competition?"
I think that is book that can be judged by its cover. Tirin stands up and looks at the noble coldly.
"Next time you propose something like that I will cut off your head."
"I'm sorry your highness."
Pig sits back. Now I see what the archduke was talking about. No wonder he worries for Tirin. Considering the lot he gets involved with.
At least he got the integrity to say no for now. But what will happen is still a mystery. As I said power corrupts, right.
This time important looking dude stands up again.
"Since archduke didn't say his conditions, I think it is the best course of action to simply govern your assigned district of the city, your highness."
"I guess that is the only course of action for now. So, what do you think I should do Loren?"
So, important looking dude is called Loren, huh.
"His highness assigned the commercial district of the city to you. So, if you manage to make it prosper more than it already is that would show your father that you are the right heir to the title."
"I know that. Main problem is how do I make the commercial district prosper more than it already is?"
"I think that is something that need to be pondered upon, your highness."
"I suppose you are right, Loren. All you think of a proposal for the commercial district and show them to me at the next meeting."
"Yes, your highness."
As a ruler he isn't half bad. Even though he is young he can listen to his advisors and follow the most effective method. But I'm still to see his planning. As for his scheming I already saw that when I saw how he used his succubi.
I think his planning can be judged by how he decides to approach this issue. At least this one is true to his self. Whatever is inside him is already outside.
After talking about almost nothing of interest they finally disperse after two hours. That was magnificent waste of my time.
Now, I wonder where is his succubi. I can't find them anywhere near. After all the nobles left only Tirin is left in the room.
Soon enough sun goes down. As soon as it got dark, black smoke starts to invade the room and four succubi appear in front of the prince. No matter what they are hot damn it. My hormones are starting to act.
Since I'm going incognito, I need to suppress it before they sense it. And just as I manage to suppress my hormones one of the succubi looks to my corner.
"What is it Judith?"
"Nothing master."
Shit that was close. They all approach Tirin and hugs some part of his body. Shit I'm so jealous. Chill dude. You can't afford to be caught here.
"What is your bidding, Master?"
I think they practiced that. Right at the same time. That sent shivers down my spine. Take deep breath and chill.
As I was swimming in my dreamland, I notice something strange. There was no reaction from Tirin. There is only one explanation in this kind of reaction. I think this dude travels along the other street.
What a waste, what a waste.
"Go out and find out who killed Moren last night."
"As you bid, Master."
After saying that at the same time they meld into the darkness and disappear. Ooh, that last part was hard to endure. Should I call him lucky or unlucky?
Anyway, I'm so jealous.
