Wu Shang Tang pulled the young man to sit next to him and forced him to join them in their meal despite the young man's initial reluctance.
Putting an arm on his back, Wu Shang Tang sported a grin as he introduced the young man and Jia Bi Yu.
"This is my benefactor, Jia Bi Yu."
He once again ruffled the young man's hair with his free hand.
"And this here is Nan Nan."
Nan Nan kept trying to push him away.
He put out his opened hand towards the Jia Bi Yu across from him.
"Nice to meet you," he quietly said, still embarrassed a stranger had seen all of that earlier.
Jia Bi Yu looked down at the offered hand and brought his up to hold it.
"Nice to meet you too."
They shook their hands briefly before letting go.
Jia Bi Yu continued to eat in silence right after causing a somewhat awkward mood in the private room.
Nan Nan turned to look at Wu Shang Tang who was beside him, and the latter just shrugged.
Seeing the troubled look of the young man, Wu Shang Tang heaved a sigh and said, "Hero saved me from your goons last night."
Nan Nan swung his head towards Jia Bi Yu's direction, his eyes widening in shock.
His mouth opened a few times trying to form words.
"He was the one who totally knocked out Cao Zhen Kang and the rest?!"
"No way.....," the volume of his voice turned into an almost inconspicuous whisper.
The group from last night was part of Nan Nan's small gang that had quite a bit of reputation.
They were part of the biggest underworld organization in A City, Sacred Guardians.
His second in command, Huang Yi Jun had given out a command to the other members without his knowledge.
This wasn't the first time it had happened, but there is nothing Nan Nan could do about him since his uncle was of a higher rank in the organization.
Typically, Huang Yi Jun should have been placed close to his uncle, but he had chosen to join Nan Nan's group.
He first joined with a fake identity as a low ranking member and it didn't take long before he gained more trust and respect from his fellow brothers, becoming second in command in under a year.
If it weren't for him being seen together with his uncle, being really familiar with each other, he probably would not have given out his real identity.
Despite being found out, he continued to stay in the group and did not act any different, keeping his gentle facade in front of the others and not showing off his connections.
That's right, facade.
He only acted that way in front of the other members in the group.
When he was alone with Nan Nan, he acted like he was the boss instead, being sarcastic with his subservient act.
If anything, he was just a two-faced scum.
Nan Nan did not know what his true goal was and his hands were really tied.
Majority of his group seemed to respect Huang Yi Jun more than himself.
Who was actually the boss here?
Just the thought of him dampened his mood.
Noticing his downcasted mood, Wu Shang Tang thought he was upset over how easily they fell.
"They weren't weak. The hero is just too strong."
Jia Bi Yu looked at him dumbfoundedly.
[Was that supposed to be some sort of comfort?]
Wu Shang Tang looked at Jia Bi Yu and smiled.
"Really, I'm not lying. If it was anyone else, they would have been lying there beaten into a pulp. I would have been too if it weren't for the hero's timely rescue."
The other two just chose to ignore him, sharing a look of camaraderie with each other and continued to eat the lavish table of food.
Halfway through, Nan Nan got a phone call and reluctantly got up to leave.
He was another foodie like Jia Bi Yu and being deprived of such good food is a sin.
He was about to murder the caller, but when he saw the caller id, his face brightened up in an instant, making one really curious about who it was.
He bid the two farewell with a big smile and left like the wind before they could even reply.
Jia Bi Yu looked at Wu Shang Tang with confusion written in his eyes.
The latter just gave him a bitter smile.
"It's that girl I told you about."
"Oh, his girlfriend who you tried to snatch."
"I said she wasn't his girlfriend and I really don't have any interest in her!" Wu Shang Tang said it in a louder voice, feeling wronged at Jia Bi Yu's misunderstanding.
However, Jia Bi Yu didn't seem to care and only replied with an, "oh, my bad."
