Capítulo 5: Empire of Nara
Two days later, after the ambush by Black Tooth bandits, Liliana and Adam continued their journey to Nara Empire. Liliana urged Adam to sit in the caravan together with her. She also offered Krisna to sit together with them, but Krisna refused and said that he would not disturb Liliana and Adam, making Liliana blush as she started thinking weird stuff with Adam.
Meanwhile, Adam stared at the grassfield outside the carriage while occasionally looked at Liliana that's leaning her head againts his soldier. He remembered that he said he will not be in a relationship with another woman. One of the reasons is because he still wants to be free and not bound by obligation of a husband to his wife. But seeing Liliana really resembles his past lover, he just forget about his own vow before.
He still don't want to marry, they just met and no way he will marry someone that he just met. He and Liliana still needs time to get to know each other.
"How long until we arrived to Nara Empire?"
"We should arrive in a couple hours, why ask?"
"Nothing, it's just that i'm curious how a Demi-Human empire looks like."
"Well, i suppose it's not really that different from a human kingdom. While the human use a lot of technology in their daily life and in their military, we used magic for almost everything that we do. Though humans also use magic, but they doesn't have a lot of people that can use magic like us Demi-Human. Human that can actually use magic and advance to a higher level are someone that is strong."
Comparing this world and Earth, it's clearly shown that not all humans are able to use magic like the Demi-Human. To how strong the humans mage are, Adam need to see it himself. While at it, he also want to see how advanced human technology in this world is.
Two hours passed, Adam and Liliana finally arrived at Nara Empire. The walls are almost as high as the Great Wall of China. Adam can see a lot of Demi-Humans patrolling on top of the walls. The gate that's filled with beautiful carving opened and showed a beautiful city of the Nara Empire.
The architecture resembled that of an european medieval era building. With marbles as their wall, giving it a somewhat pure impression to it. Adam also saw a building under contruction on his way to the castle, where they used magic to lift things up and put them in place. Magic influence are really heavy in here. No wonder this place seems 'magical'.
A short while later, Adam and Liliana arrived in the castle. Because it's a castle, of course it's bigger than the other building, Adam can see a tower in some places on the castle wall. Feeling the magic power emitting from the tower, Adam guessed that's a mage tower used for defensive purpose.
"Adam, because other people doesn't know our relationship except Krisna and my guards, i need you to get out from the carriage for now, you don't want to explain how abrupt our relationship is, right?
So I'll give you and Krisna a token of the royal families so you can enter my castle easily later. And after seeing you so amazed by the beauty of my city, I suggest you and Krisna take a walk in the street, after i'm done explaining to my families about you, I'll send the guards to contact you."
Liliana then gives Adam two pieces of token with nine-tailed fox engraved within it. This must be the symbol of the royal families.
"Well alright then, guees I'll see you later?"
"Yes, I'll see you later."
After Adam told Krisna through telepathy to meet him in a restaurant they passed from, Adam patted Liliana head before he teleported to an alley not far from the restaurant he mentioned to Krisna.
Walking out from the alley, Adam can feel a lot of people looking at him. Thinking there's something wrong with his face, Adam touched his face but couldn't find anything wrong. So why does all the people staring at him?
"You! Why is a human here! Who let this human get inside the city!"
Suddenly a voice came through from the crowd. Looking at the source of the voice, Adam can see a male youth walking to him with arrogance showed to his face. But he's not alone, a couple youth with the same age as him accompanied the arrogant youth, there's also a couple of girls walking behind them. Adam already rolled his eyes when he can guess where is this going.
'Let me guess, this guy going to talk sh** to me and telling me a lowly human shouldn't be in this place. Thus he wanted to show his power so he can impress the girls behing him, just fantastic.'
"Do you know this place is the Nara Empire? No humans are allowed here! How the hell can you even get inside? Did you bribe the guards at the gate so you can get in? Or are you one of the spy from Nasteta Kingdom that want to destroy us!? Despicable human! You should die!"
Adam didn't even bother listening to the youth talking. Instead, he's busy taking a selfie with his phone, because this is a nice place, why wouldn't he take a selfie right? That's the trend of modern people, from Earth anyway.
"What the fu** are you doing!? Are you even listening to me!?"
"If you want me to answer honestly then yes—I didn't listen a single thing that you said."
Adam's answer angered the youth. His eyes that resembled that of a wolf glared at Adam. As a family member of the noble Wolfhart families, how dare this lowly human doesn't listen to what he says? He even doing whatever it is he's doing there! How can he tolerate that.
Slowly the youth's right hand changed to similar like a wolf, a claw also slowly coming out from the youth's hand. The youth can't tolerate Adam behaviour anymore. He wants to rip him to tiny pieces right now!
Seeing the youth wanted to attack him, Adam just laughed seeing how the youth wanted to kill him now. Well, he guess it's natural if you someone 'unauthorized' stepping in your territory, especially if that someone is a 'spy'. People that looking at Adam are confused about why is Adam laughing even though he's going to be killed. Some even started to think that Adam has gone crazy because of fear.
The youth thought that Adam laugh was a mockery to him. So he charged at Adam with his killing intent directed at Adam. But seeing Adam just stood there staring at him, the youth thought that Adam is frozen in fear.
But he soon realize that he was mistaken.
The youth swung his claws at Adam's face. He wanted to rip Adam stupid face that always showed indifference. But just right when the claws wanted to make contact with Adam's face, Adam stepped back and avoided the youth attack by a narrow margin. Shocking people that's watching the battle from the side.
"You lucky bastard, you won't get away next time!"
The youth repeatedly attacked Adam. But Adam always avoided it with ease. People can even see that Adam started to yawn and played with his phone again, though the people doesn't really know what Adam is doing with his phone.
"Attack me if you dare! Don't run away like a chicken!"
Meanwhile, a Demi-Human that resembled a chicken cursed at the youth in a low voice.
"Why though? I don't like bullying a kid."
"You!"
The youth body started to change. Not just one part of his body, but all of his body changed. He's now changed to a werewolf, but his fur are white like a snow. Adam that saw how the youth changed are impressed. Not because how the youth become strong after changing, but because why he's seen so many white color in a day.
"Is white a common color in here? You gotta change your fur color kid, you're going to get copyrighted for that."
Even though the youth doesn't understand what Adam is saying, he knew that Adam is mocking him. So the youth charged at Adam again. But this time faster than before. Some of the youth strikes almost hit Adam, not that it really worry Adam, but it's still impressive.
"Alright, i'm done playing, someone is waiting for me."
The youth wanted to charge at Adam again. But before he could do anything, the youth saw a finger pointing at him, but the youth didn't even realize when the finger appeared before him. A feeling of danger started to show up in the youth's heart.
"Go to sleep."
And just like that, the youth suddenly lost his consciousness and fall down to the ground. When people look closely, the youth indeed has fallen asleep afte Adam told him to go to sleep. They then looked at Adam again, this time with a scared expression on their face.
This man is so strong! He can beat the strong youth with just a single word!
To be completely honest, the youth is one of the promising young generation in the Nara Empire. Not only the youth is a tier four mage at the age of eighteen, but he's also a tier three warrior! That means he's strong! The youth can even beat the senior at his school with ease! But sadly, the youth fought Adam, the moment he started to fight with Adam the youth fate is already sealed.
"Well then, Krisna should arrive now."
"Master! Sorry I'm late!"
A man shouted from the crowd while trying to get past the crowd of people. Who else other than Krisna himself? But what made Adam confused is why the hell did Krisna called him with 'Master'?
"It's not like I'm going to punish you for being late. It's just that I'm hungry now, because you're late, you probably have an excuse. Anyway, let's get something to eat!"
The nonchalant act of Adam shocked the crowd that's watching. How can he leave like that after knocking unsconcious one of the strongest youth in Nara Empire!? But none dared to voice what they're thinking, fearing that they might attract the anger of Adam.
Just like that, Adam walked away with Krisna, leaving the unconscious youth behind. Adam didn't even bother what's gonna happen later to him.
Meanwhile, one of the girls that followed the youth from behind stared at Adam who's getting inside a restaurant. Her gaze filled with curiosity towards Adam. A smile appeared in her veil covered face, if people saw it, they would surely entranced by it.
"What a mysterious man."
