Montana remembered the events that he could recall the easiest. Yes, he was trying to kill Satan—a demon prince. However, there was nothing much to be done. If he couldn't kill the man, everyone else would be in danger. Even if Michael stopped the attack right now, there would be a rising. He didn't know what would have happened by then, but Asmodeus would be very furious if Luca wouldn't be returned to him.

As for not returning… heh, he didn't know. He forgot to think of this consequence before he did something. All he knew was that Satan had to die, and that was it.
