The army headed back along with ominous silence. Some would look up and down while some would peek among the forest. It was evident that they thought it was a trap.
"Stupid captain does control a brainless army. Can't believe they fell for it," Eria thought to himself while keeping his sight on the army's retreat. He turned around once they weren't in range of his view, and said with a cunning smile, "I will cut them down the next time they come."
"Swish" Gust of wind started to flow across the clearing as Eria hurried towards the Glaze Village. Dust began to gather around him, so he flung his sleeves to clear his view; what laid ahead was a cliff.
Instead of being irritated, Eria was gladdened as he knew he had found a better way to get to the village.
Only the people from the village knew that the cliff was the greatest short cut to the village. Under it, there was a vast cave which connected to one of the outer parts of the village.
The sun was slowly settling down as Eria gazed horizontally upon the red velvet sky. It reminded him of the last time he had seen this scene while he was a god "It has already been more than a day since I have come to this world again"
He drew a long sigh as he said with a fixed attitude "I need to grow stronger in order to overcome the obstacle that's waiting ahead of my path" and soon after that his mind went blank for a while as his mind drifted towards the past. It seemed as though his soul was damaged from the use of God's power. However, it didn't last long as he forced himself out of it. After awaking from the sudden blackout, he said to himself, " and to survive within the bleak future."
After making up his mind, he tilted his head towards the bottom of the cliff. The cliff was approximately nine hundred ninety-nine meters above the ground. It was a great source of danger to ordinary people as they could easily be crushed from one simple mishap. However, to him, it was a mere child play. From birth, the original owner of the body trained his body whenever he had the chance. He had trained it to the point where it was stronger than an ordinary adult's body.
Although it was lacking compared to a knight's body, it still had great flexibility and resilience which overcame that weakness. It could be said that excluding his magic powers; his body was his greatest accomplishment. But the fact that his innate body was quite talentless remained a fact. No matter how much strong the body was, it didn't raise Eria's talent so he was always looked down upon by his peers.
"Hmm..."
As he climbed down with slight caution, a strange shudder went past his soul freezing him for few seconds. This caught him off guard, which caused him to be out of balance.
He fell for a few seconds before he gripped onto a craggy stone with his right arm. However, his condition was beyond miserable. His four ribs and left arm's bones were completely broken due to the sudden fall.
"Ah... what on the world just happened?" He murmured to himself with great difficulty.
At the same time, a glimmering white light came off from the center of the hundred beast forest. The magical beasts within the five miles radius seemed to have lost their mind due to the sudden change in environment. The low intelligent species of monsters hid in their own caves while the ones with high intelligence walked towards the source with a tinge of hatred.
However, the person most affected by the light was Eria. There was a sudden call for him from the source; it was as though a part of him suddenly found him and called him over. This feeling was overwhelming ever for Eria. Even as a god, he had never felt this feeling in his entire life.
"What is this feeling? What are these images that are getting onto my head?" Eria lifted his broken left hand and clutched his skull. A hidden memory that was deep inside of him suddenly flashed through his head. It was the memory of when he had been killed by one of the overlords of the alien organization. This memory of his; the one that was hidden deep inside of his brain, caused Eria to be greatly irritated. However, what relieved him was the fact that he too had killed the overlord by using his God's origin source. The discomfort slowly faded as the white light turned translucent and seemed to be slowly disappearing.
After digesting the memory that was hidden inside his soul, Eria opened his confused eyes once again. He realized that part of his memory; the past memory seemed to have been sealed somewhere due to outside interference. He knew it could only be the Gods' enemy who could have dared to do such a thing.
"Sizzle"
As Eria stared down towards it, the ivory light once again flashed but with deeper color. The white light was coming from the area that was near the cliff; it was within three miles of Eria.
"That's the thing that's calling me. No, it can't be! I can sense an ominous aura radiating off it. Anyway, for now, it doesn't matter. I have to keep my life safe before anything else."
Eria didn't gaze upon the light anymore. Instead, he climbed down the cliff with one leg and one hand. Slowly but surely, he was making progress. With great difficulty, he finally made it down to the bottom of the cliff. "Finally, made it. Although it was dangerous, I learned that it's not right to underestima— Fuck" However, his face changed slightly as he peeked further.
"Awoooo"
A horde of silver wolves dashed towards Eria with frightening speed. Their advancement caused the ground to shake with a sound resembling Eria's frightened heart.
"What have I done to deserve this?" Eria thought to himself as he ran for his life using one leg. He knew if he were to go towards the cave, he was doomed. One of his legs was broken, and he barely had any energy left. So, in order to keep his life, he instead headed towards the forest that was ahead of him
