Capítulo 43: Vampire Lord Kokakola awaken!

A barrier crystal only had a full vitality of five hundred thousand or in gaming terms, 500k HP. With the nonstop barrage of attack from Ria and the rest, the barrier could hold out for one hour at most. It couldn't hold on any longer than that for sure.

"It should be soon."

"Yeah, better get ready. I hope master and Erocci will succeed."

"They obviously will. I'm sure of it."

Damia and Syaitona were observing the situation around the city entrance. The two of them were the only melee fighter left to guard their headquarter beside Ria. At the moment, Ria was busy attacking the barrier together with the other range attacker class.

"Boom! Pewwww! Kabooom! Pow! Poooooww!"

Continuous explosion sound had not stopped even for a second this whole hour. With the aid of support class spirits, the attack on the city was proceeding smoothly without problem. Mana regeneration buff, damage enhancing buff and penetration buff were casted repeatedly to ensure that all the attackers were at their best condition.

"CRASSSSSHHHHHH!!"

A loud crashing sound finally resounded as the barrier surrounding the city broke into pieces. It really took Ria and the rest almost one hour to break that barrier even with their overwhelming force. If a normal party planned on using this same approach, they would spent double the time to destroy the barrier.

"Now that the barrier is down, its show time! Pour everything you got and decimate the city!"

"Chaos meteor!"

"Rain of Arrow!"

"Starlight descend!"

Ria was totally delighted upon seeing the crumbling barrier shattered to pieces. Once again, she shouted loudly commanding the spirits to press the attack. Without the barrier shielding them, the people inside the city were no different than sitting duck, waiting to be decimated.

The vampire forces in the city were mediocre at best. Even back in HeavensTale, most mobs in twenty five man dungeons were cannon fodders where they would be wiped almost instantly by elite players. They posed some difficulty to normal players only because they were powered up by the dungeon instance status, making them way stronger than normal monsters.

There were only around three hundred guards inside the city and magic caster among them were less than twenty in numbers. They couldn't even return fire to Ria and the rest because of the difference in their troop quality.

"Our arrow ain't reaching them!"

"Our magic caster couldn't do anything."

"They have barriers! They have barriers of their own!"

The vampire soldiers who was on the city wall tried counterattacking but apparently their effort were proven useless. Their petty arrow and weak low level magic were blocked by barriers maintained by Aloha and the rest of healer spirits. Against weak attack like those, they didn't even need to spend lots of mana on maintaining the barrier.

Mays didn't just choose the tall tree on his whim. He already calculated that the tall tree would function as the best support for their long range attacker. These rangers, hunters and archers needed higher ground to extend their attack range and this tall tree complimented that. Since they were elites max level spirits, obviously their attack range, attack power and attack speed were way superior compared to the lousy vampire soldiers in the city.

"That's it. I'm going out to kill those people. Prepare the demon horse!"

"Yes sir!"

"Azazan! I think it's better to inform Lord Kokakola first rather than going out on your own."

"Shut your mouth. Lord Kokakola give me the privilege to do whatever I think is the best. You should just stay here and watch how I do things."

Without any other option available, Azazan made up his mind as he opened the city gate and rushed out together with a band of vampire riders. Their target was ultimately Ria and the rest.

"Well then, the gate is now open. Let's move."

"Yes master."

The gatekeeper was closing the city gate after Azazan and the rest rushed out. Unbeknown to them, two figure swiftly walked into the city through that small opening before the city gate was closed. They were both Mays and Erocci, who had been on standby in front of the city gate.

With the help of [Deceit Mist] skill, both Mays and Erocci were invisible from the enemy's eyes and perception. [Deceit Mist] was assassin's buff skill which hide the players and their party for a period of time before they made contact with the enemy. This skill was totally helpful on the occasion where the players need to sneak into enemy's territory unnoticed.

"Kill them all!"

Azazan who stopped a few meters away from the tall tree commanded his legion to kill their opponent. They rode forward with their swords and pike ready to strike.

"Urgh!"

"Traps! Be careful of traps!"

Some of them were killed right away by the traps placed all over the area by the hunters but most of them didn't falter even after that. One of them shouted to notify their companion as they valiantly rushed forward until they were blocked by the people guarding the area.

With Syaitona as the lead and Damia who stood close behind, the other spirits were ready to fight their opponents. The support class and healer class were all busying themselves with buffing their companions' right after the battle started.

Klang! Ktang!

Blade meets blade as the two side clashed with each other. Since all the magic caster and range class spirits were busy bombarding the city, only the melee class together with support class were fighting Azazan who came attacking.

After killing several vampire who faced her, Syaitona observed her surroundings. Corpses of vampires were piling up as the fight continued. These vampires were no bosses. They were killed one after another without much of a fight. Even against a healer or support class, they were still inferior in a fight.

Syaitona leapt forward after she determined her next target. The person she marked was the one who gave orders not to far away from the combat area, Azazan. But before she started attacking that person, something landed right in front of her, halting her from going forward.

Amidst the crater which just formed from the landing impact, a beautiful maiden clad in pink armors stood mightily in front of Syaitona.

"Sorry but, that guy is mine to kill."

-------------------------------------------------------

"Err… I think it's this way. Let's go."

"Em."

Leading Erocci inside the city, Mays hesitated every time they happened upon a diverged path. They already ventured deep into the city, currently nearing the city hall. City of Trickery was just a small city hence it took them only a few minutes to reach the center.

The city was almost turned into ruin thanks to the bombardment from Ria and the rest. Most of the building inside the city had been demolished by the meteors. The scene was more or less the same as what happened to Durahel's capital but with fewer casualties.

"Heh, the city lord mansion. Let's smoke that vampire lord out."

"Erm."

Unlike Mira or Syaitona, Erocci was surprisingly the shy type. Mays did slack off in describing her personality back then considering that she was his second spirit but he never wrote the shy part. It just blend into her personality magically since Mays didn't specify on it. Mays who noticed that nodded in satisfaction as he just acquired another information about these so called spirit.

The city lord's mansion was partially destroyed when Mays and Erocci arrived. There were no vampire corpse in sight either since most of them had already evacuated to the city hall when the attack started. The vampire shaman in charge of defense erected a barrier at the city hall to protect the weaker vampires.

Mays stood motionless in front of the rubbles which was once the city lord's mansion. He was using his keen sense to locate the position of Kokakola. Now that he was this close to his target, he could pinpoint the location accurately.

"He's… here. Underground!"

Kicking off the rubbles nearby, Mays finally found the stairs leading him to the underground chamber. Apart from the strong presence he sensed which was most likely the boss, he also sensed another two weaker presence nearby. He then whispered something to Erocci before the two of them walked down the stairs.

The stairways was quite long, fifty medium steps in total. It was at least two storey underneath the earth. At the end of the stairways was a rectangular chamber without any decoration. Inside the chamber stood six demon carved pillar together with the three vampire Mays had detected previously.

"Go Erocci! Take those two."

"Yes!"

Erocci swiftly moved toward the two vampire who was already aware of their present in the chamber. Mays on the other hand leapt toward the one who sat in the middle of the chamber, surrounded by those demonic runes carved pillar. An elderly with a long eyebrow and thick white beard wearing a black scholar robe.

Kokakola was currently sitting in a meditation posture with both his eyes shut. His soul was apparently not in his body, leaving him totally vulnerable. Mays didn't strike him right away. He just stood beside him and watched Erocci's fight.

Only after Erocci defeated one of the two guards finally Mays made his move. Sneak attack might seemed underhanded to most people but Mays didn't care about others opinion. With both his sword shone brightly, he tried to decapitate Kokakola who was still unaware of the danger.

"Dual Slash!"

Mays didn't dare slack off. He used his full power right off the bat. Even he himself wanted to see if an insane boss would just die right away if their head got looped off.

"Ktaaaaaaaaaaang!!"

A loud piercing voice echoed all over the underground chamber.

Mays was nowhere behind Kokakola anymore. He was sent flying from the aftermath of the earlier clash between both his swords and the barrier shielding Kokakola. He was now plastered at the wall of the chamber, grinning as he wiped the dripping blood on his mouth.

"Damn. It ain't going to be that easy I guess."

Slowly standing up from his meditation state, Kokakola opened both his eyes. The faint barrier surrounding him disappeared that very moment both his eyes opened. His gaze landed on Mays who was busy dusting off his clothes not too far away from him.

"Puny human. How dare you try to attack the great me when I am meditating?"

A loud threatening voice coming from Kokakola showed how mad he currently was. He didn't shout yet his voice was crystal clear even to those outside the city.

"Heh, why wouldn't I dare?"

Mays snorted as if he didn't care one bit. The angry Kokakola in front of him didn't intimidate him at all.

"Master, I've deal with those two guards from before."

"Nicely done."

Erocci suddenly appeared behind Mays as she reported. As an assassin, hiding her presence and move out while invisible to others was her specialty.

"Good, good! Now that you have angered this great one, brace yourself for the consequences!"

"Bring it on!"

-----------------------------------

"Raging Thunder Strike!"

Bzz! Bzz!

Azazan who was dominating the fight since the start was now on the floor, barely moving. Ria stood in front of him, full of bruises. Their fight was a fierce one for sure. The other spirits couldn't lend her a hand considering how they were surrounded by the vampires on all side.

"Ehh?"

Even Ria who attacked just now was shocked. She had been fighting this vampire for minutes but she never had the upper hand. But now his normal attack actually had such a great effect on her opponents. How could she not be surprised by that?

In truth, not just Ria alone who encountered this doubtful event. Syaitona and the rest of the spirits were also caught in the same situation. The vampires that took quite some time for them to kill were now killed as easy as swatting an insect. One after another, the vampire who attacked them fall down after being cut.

"It must be master. The plan is now on phase two. Tidy up this area as fast as possible, we need to back master up!"

"Hehe Mira knew it was master right away. Mira didn't even waste time thinking about it."

"It's because you can't even think, blockhead!"

"No! Mira is no blockhead! You are the blockhead! Syaitona too!"

Surprisingly, it was not Syaitona who rebuked Mira but Mada the gunner. He and the rest of the range attacker was now focusing their firepower against the vampires surrounding them. They already finished doing their part by breaking the barrier previously.

"But seriously… These vampires really weaken considerably. They were now comparable to normal bosses at best."

"Master is just being master. Nothing much."

Syaitona was still in awe at the marvel produced by their master. She was the one who knew the most about Mays's plan and theories. One of the things Mays wanted to test during this raid was the effect of instance dungeon on those monsters.

His theory was proven correct when these monsters turned weak after he did something. Damia on the other hand replied to her as if what just happened was a matter of fact.

"Did you guys noticed something strange?"

Mada suddenly asked. He had good eyesight as a ranger. He noticed that something felt different. He even felt like experiencing a déjà vu since a few second ago.

"Yeah, I noticed it too. See that vampire with the trident? I killed him earlier yet somehow he come back to life."

One of Ria's spirit who was also a ranger replied. He was also prone to changes in their surroundings. But again, maybe he was wrong. Maybe that vampire guy had a friend who wore the exact same armor and weapon. Who knows?

Syaitona took note on those weird things and made a reminder in her mind. She would consult Mays about that later. She might even be praised by Mays for bringing up these kind of unexpected information.

"Shield Bash! Sword Spirits!"

Countless shining sword surrounded Azazan as it pierced him nonstop. [Sword Spirits] was a decent skill for every swordsman indeed. Every single sword slashed through Azazan carrying the same damage as Ria's every sword strike. Ria was not a swordsman but thanks to her hidden class, she had the privilege to master all swordsman and magic caster's basic skill just like Mays.

"That should end it."

Sheathing her crimson sword back to its scabbard on her hip, Ria let out a small sigh. Her opponent was quite the tough guy. It was a gold ranked intermediate boss after all. Intermediate boss buffed with dungeon instance status was no joke. If only that Azazan was a level hundred intermediate boss, even Ria would have a hard time winning against him in a one on one battle. Too bad his level was only around ninety.

The other spirits were all ready and waiting for Ria to finish her fight. They already killed every single vampire who rushed at them. These vampire were now too weak to even be considered an enemy for them.

"We are done here. Let's meet up with Mays."

"Right away!"

Just like that, Ria and the rest of the spirits rushed into the city. Their target right now was Kokakola, the vampire lord who ruled over this city.

"Krasssshhh!"

Mays was sent flying again. He was in a pinch even when he was fighting in his top form. Erocci was also sent flying somewhere but since she was still alive then everything was fine. The underground chamber had long ago destroyed by Kokakola. If not for Mays shielding Erocci from the full brunt of Kokakola's ferocious attack, Erocci might already bid farewell to the world.

"And this guy supposed to be one of the physically weaker boss? Such a lame joke indeed."

Mays grumbled as he stood again after being sent flying over and over. Kokakola whom he was facing right now was a magic class boss. A demonic being magic caster. It should without a doubt be weaker than physical class boss.

"Puny human! Show yourself!"

At the moment, Kokakola was surrounded by seven dark sphere orbiting around him like a galaxy. He stood mightily on air, hovering all over looking for Mays. Not just that, he even sent away those wicked looking dark sphere on occasion to destroy any rubbles which looked suspicious in his eyes.

Mays was moving discreetly on the ground, looking for Erocci. Unlike him, Erocci's dark resistance was barely enough to face Kokakola.

"There you are! Die human!"

Two dark sphere flew toward Mays in lightning speed. Both dark sphere held enough power to obliterate the area when they explode.

"Tch, I can't evade this. Heavens Vanguard!"

Mays's body shone bright red after he activated his defensive skill. His elemental resistance was increased exponentially to an unprecedented level, a level only achievable by hidden class players.

"Krassssshh!"

"Kraaaaaaaaaaaaasssshhh!"

Both dark sphere exploded and a huge crater was produced at the place where the dark sphere landed. Kokakola immediately rushed down, looking for traces of Mays. As the dust and smoke subsides, Kokakola line of sight became clearer. He observed the whole area but there was no sign of Mays at all.

Step by step, Kokakola walked forward while both his eyes relentlessly surveyed the surroundings. He didn't plan to leave the human who disturbed him alive. After confirming that the area further ahead was not where Mays could possibly be, Kokakola turned back and started walking all over the area he blasted earlier.

It was then when suddenly Mays appeared behind him with both his hand swinging his crimson blades. His target was Kokakola's defenseless nape. He was trying to behead Kokakola again using the same trick as before.

On his side was Erocci, clinging onto him. Mays found Erocci right after the blast and immediately asked her to use [Deceit Mist]. The both of them already gulped down a Greater HP Potion while waiting for Kokakola to approach them hence their injuries from the explosion earlier was now mostly healed.

"Dual Slash!"

This time, there was no barrier surrounding Kokakola. It should be a clean, direct hit. There might even a chance for this insane boss to die on the spot. Or so Mays thought.
