Michael saw the symbol imprinted on their shoulders, the symbol of the Knights of Albero. One of them was wearing a Knight armor and weilding a light saber, and the other was wearing a black robe while holding a metal stick where there was a crystal cube floating on the tip.

" So there is one survivor left ", the man with an armor said. Michael grit his teeth and glared at the man.

" Where is my sister!? ", he said, his eyes were blazing. The Knight grinned and suddenly laughed. 

" A little girl— sorry, I've killed too many children today ha ha ha ", the Knight said. And Michael saw the blood stains from his armor, then an image of Reina overlapped on his vision. He assumed that one of those blood stains came from Reina. And an image of Reina came again to his vision where she was begging for her life. Then a sudden rush of blood came to this head, he immediately stretched out his hand and a big magic circle appeared. 

" YOU BASTARD!!! ", he cried, and a large beam of light came out of the circle towards the Knight. The beam was huge and destroyed everything it passed, until it devoured the Knight. After that, Michael caught his breath, the mage was petrified by the power of the spell. 

" Is that a quick cast? — a child did a quick cast? ", the mage wondered. Michael was carelessly used the three-fourth of his mana on the spell, but the Knight was still standing who received burns and wounds. He was also covered by his own blood. The Knight was screaming in pain, then he gripped his saber tightly and charged to towards Michael. 

" How dare you?! Prepare to die!! ", the Knight cried. Michael immediately casted a barrier and blocked his saber. But the Knight was so strong that pushed Michael to kneel on the ground. 

" You want to die, right!? Then I will cut you like what I did to you beloved sister!? ", he laughed. Then the pressure suddenly loose and the saber was able to penetrate to Michael's barrier. The saber went straight and crushed the ground creating a fog of dust. The mage called a wind to wipe the dust, but they couldn't see Michael.

" Where is he? ", the mage asked. Then Michael suddenly appeared at the Knight's back, and uttered, " What did you say? ", Michael eyes glew red and his voice also changed. The Knight immediately turned around and swung his blade down at Michael, but he hit nothing. 

" What the hell is happening ", the Knight wondered. Then Michael blinked towards his back again and slashed him. 

" Aaargh! ", he cried. 

The mage was trembling, he didn't see where Michael had his blade, and he couldn't see when Michael swung his blade.

" Die, you Demon!? ", the mage shouted, and he raised his staff. 

[Dark Pulse], the mage cast a dark-colour orb, and when the cube on his staff glew, the orb got bigger. He released towards Michael at an insane speed. Michael grinned and the orb suddenly refracted and got sucked by Michael's blade. The mage was startled. Then the Knight suddenly jumped towards Michael. But Michael immediately rotated his body with his blade so fast, and the saber was cut into two. And a strong wave came out from Michael, knocking them back and thrown them away. 

Michael personality suddenly changed like another entity lives inside him. And they saw Michael's blade dissolve into dark fragments and fall to the ground, then the dark fragments rapidly spread on the ground creating a dark field. 

[Dark Territory], they felt the atmosphere so heavily with dark mana, they were shivering and cried because of extreme fear. The only thing that they could only see was Michael's dark glares to them. 

[Execution for your unforgivable sin] 

And the abyss appeared below the Knight and a dark entity came out and devoured him alive. His body was torn down, and the dark entity immediately came back to the abyss. Only his hand holding the saber was left on the surface. When the mage witnessed them all, cried out because of fear. 

" A DEMON!!! ", he shouted, and he cast a countless barrage of mana balls because of adrenaline, but it doesn't even hit Michael at all. Then the abyss also opened below him. 

" AAAAAAAAAAARRHH ", he cried while his body was tearing apart. 

Eleana was also there, and had witnessed everything. She was also affected by the field, but she had already cast a fortification spell to resist the fear. But she was startled when Michael glared at her and a dark hole also appeared below her. She immediately jumped and flew away, but the dark entity inside the abyss came out and chased after her. 

" He was possessed by something. ", she thought. Then an idea came to her mind. And she flew high and summoned the Apocalypse:

" Dammit! "

Then Eleana suddenly smiled, and Michael saw it. 

" What do you mean? You found her? ", he asked. 
" No, but what I feel is she's still alive "

Meanwhile, Tang Shaoyang was taking a peek at his mana. He had been casting his skill consecutively, he would be troubled if his mana was depleted in the middle of the fight since magus was mana-dependent class.

'I still have enough mana to face them all,' he then scanned the surroundings, he could not find his subordinates, all of them were the Royal Knight.

"I will come back soon, hold on!" After whispering to Gu Yingjie, he rushed deeper into the village in the direction his subordinate pointed at.
As he was rushing deeper, he found more dead bodies. They were Ropina Village's villagers mostly with a few Royal Knight's corpses.

In the Dark world's Durance of Hate's second level, Abel carefully led his summons forward. They were not in a game, so safety was his priority.
He would rarely move in a flash in this place. With his experience, he knew how scary this place could be--just like the time he ran into those Undead Stygian Dolls or the King of Darkness. One was a creature with extremely physical speed, and the other was something with a meteoroid fire spell attack. He would not underestimate any of them.

He unleashed 9 spirit guardian knights, 9 spirit guardian wizards, the mud monster, 5 immortal ravens, and 3 mad wolves.
The spirit guardian wizards were ordered to make close body attacks since those King of Darkness couldn't match their physical strength. Also, Abel had a potion for recovery, and the king of Darkness didn't.
Abel finally drowned out a 'damage increase curse' pattern, and a red cloud of curse appeared above. As the cursed raindrops poured down, a red glow of curse emerged from the King of Darkness.
He quickly switched into his wizard mode and threw out a chain of lightning. Since his summons surrounded those King of Darkness, he could cast his spells without worrying.
Screams of agony emerged one by one, but none of them could escape Abel's lighting.
When the first King of Darkness dropped dead, his soul was sucked into Abel's Horadric cube, and he stopped his spell.
He ignited the priests' exploding corpse spell and aimed it at that dead King of Darkness on the ground.
Bang! The body exploded. The law of the Dark World protected his summons, but the other King of Darkness was not as lucky.
The exploding corpse was a magical spell. Since every person was filled with anger before they died, this spell could unleash the anger within them and turn it into a destructive blast.
Half of the damage came from the corpse's fire element and the other from the blast's shockwave. They were both physical attacks.
The damage increase curse had lowered his enemy's resistance to physical attacks by 100%, which was basically making them helpless against it.
The exploding corpse set off a domino effect. Since the other Kings of Darkness were already badly hurt by the lightning, and the blast soon began to take their lives away.
Abel kept using the exploding corpse on each dead King of Darkness, massacring them.
When the explosions ended, Abel checked his mana. The endless spell casting had taken a big chunk of it away.  
50 dead was not a bad result, but Abel was not happy. A problem remained. His summons could only do one thing, drag his enemies down.
Not a single King of Darkness was killed by his summon in the battle. Even with the damage increase curse, his summons were still no match to his spells.
Still, there was a positive side. His diverse fighting skills were finally paying off and allowed him to do something much more powerful than a single skill.
For example, he used his wizard spells to create dead bodies and use a priest spell to explode them and achieve a massacre. Not to mention, the countless defense spell on him almost made him impenetrable.
He shook his head and regained his focus. There were more violent battles waiting for him. He scanned the magic staff left over by the King of Darkness. He was no longer interested in white magic staff. What he needed was a special magic staff with the ability to level up his spells. They were the ingredients to make a rune word.
There was a passage leading to the abyss in the center of that gutter of blood. When the first spirit guardian knight entered the passage, Abel heard some screams, and soon, meteoroids and 9 headed serpent spells flew towards that spirit guardian knight.
"Back!" Abel commanded through the power of the will without a thought. At the same time, purple light flashed on the spirit guardian knight. His druid soil used a full recovery potion.
Afterward, the spirit guardian knight flashed away.
Abel saw 5 King of Darkness and 3 councilors running towards him from the passage. Abel let out a breath of relief.
He did not attract all the hell creatures from the other side, so he could kill them off with the least amount of sacrifice.
Unlike the last battle, he didn't need to use his summons to hold those hell creatures down with their number.
However, he did not let his guard down.  He knew those were servant-level king of Darkness, so there must be a dark gold level King of Darkness from the other side. Not to mention, those councilors were servant level as well.
Although servant-level hell creatures were not as powerful as a dark gold level one, their power was close.
First, the spirit guardian wizards cast their chain of lightning and sent those hell creatures into shock. Countless resources altered those spirit guardian wizards from Abel. Although their lightning spells were not ideal, the numbing effect was still very affecting those hell creatures.
The 3 councilors had a lightning rebound ability, so 3 red lights shot out from their hands and turned into 3 nine-headed serpents.
However, these 9 headed serpents soon became their last attack. Abel cast an aging curse and turned those hell creatures into slow motion.
Through those spells, Abel realized those councilors were resistant to lightning damage, and those King of Darkness were resistant to ice damage.
So he cast his 2 most powerful fire spells, 'Firewall' and 'meteoroid.' A painful white glow of curse emerged from those hell creatures' bodies as they screamed in the burning in flames. Soon, their voices added.
After obtaining 8 more souls, Abel commanded a spirit guardian knight to move forward again.
However, this time he was not as lucky. This spirit guardian knight was not attacked immediately, so it kept moving forward. Suddenly, frost appeared on its body.
It slowed down its reaction, and a councilor appeared beside it and stuck down with its magic staff like a ghost before it got the chance to flash away.
Although a councilor's physical attack was weak and it didn't do much damage, the spirit guardian knight's move in a flash was broken.
Afterward, red light shot out from that councilor and turned into a nine-headed serpent as a giant meteorite landed on that spirit guardian knight.
Abel's druid soul wanted to use the full recovery potion, but it was too late. The spirit guardian knight was killed.
Abel saw this King of Darkness wrapped in frost. It was a dark gold level King of Darkness enchanted by the Holy Freeze Aura.
The councilor who just approached the spirit guardian knight was also Dark Gold level, and Abel could clearly see the name Bremm Sparkfist.
It was the hell creature leader of the Zakarum's Church council, and 2 other councilors were standing by its side.
The dark gold King of Darkness and Bremen Sparkfist noticed Abel. And they began to charge.
Abel quickly ignited the World Stone ability. In the face of 2 Dark Gold level hell creatures, he could not relax a single bit. He had gone all out.

The 2 councilors behind Bremm Sparkfist also threw out a red beam of light, so Abel ordered 2 more spirit guardian knights to block in mid-air again.
That Dark Gold King of Darkness, on the other hand, was surrounded by 3 of Abel's most powerful spirit guardian knights.
Duriel and the spirit guardian knight captain arrived in front of that King of Darkness and crazily struck down with their weapons. Duriel was naturally very powerful in defense, and the Spirit guardian knight captain was also a lot more powerful than normal spirit guardian knights after using so many potions.
Naga, on the other hand, hid behind the 2 powerful spirit guardian knights and attacked the King of Darkness with its poison balls.
But of course, a Dark-Gold level hell creature was not that easy to deal with. Although its close body attacks were not strong, the Holy Freeze Aura was a thing of power. It began to flash, and each time, the spirit guardian knights were hit with ice damage and slowed down.
Luckily they could flash away even being slowed down, but they could only keep this Dark Gold King of Darkness busy at most. Purple lights kept flashing on their bodies. They were not in for an easy battle.

     -Siegfried and Azure had just arrived in the outskirts of Oakheart, and were greeted by Rigel, one of the Void Stars of the Dark Mage's Cult. Rigel offered to break Siegfried's curse, as long as he agreed to join their agenda. Siegfried declined his offer, and Rigel summoned ten of his dark mages to help aid in the upcoming battle between the two. Things are looking grim for Siegfried, however, he has a trump card up his sleeve. 
Rigel: "As you can see, Siegfried, I came prepared. As it sits, my party is nearly 100x stronger than yours. I see no possible way you could win against me."
Siegfried: "100x stronger? Where'd you come up with that number? Or did you just pull it out of your ass, Rigel?"
Rigel: "Shut up Siegfried! It's a figure of speech! You're screwed is what I'm saying! I gave you all the chances in the world to join me, and you've flushed every single one of them down the toilet!"
Siegfried: "I simply do not have the time, or want, to join whatever it is that you're about, Rigel. I have an agenda of my own, and I want to focus on that."
Rigel: "Your agenda is destined to fail, Siegfried. I'm going to put a stop to it, right here, right now. Enough stalling, it's time for us to do battle. Although, I don't see this as much of a fair fight. Regardless, orders are orders, bring it on!"
Siegfried: "Wait, did you say orders-"
Rigel: "OL-CAECUS!"
     -Suddenly, Rigel pulled his Akuma-horn wand from his sleeve, and cast a blinding spell at Siegfried, Siegfried slid to the ground and dodged it, the spell hit a tree and pierced through it-
Siegfried: "Whoa, that's a powerful spell, it practically pierced that tree over there... perhaps I should try a spell of my own, let's see if this even does anything anymore..."
Siegfried: "Sphaera!"
     -Siegfried's aura changed to match that of Rigel's, the aura of a ghost flying about. Rigel looked at Siegfried, confused, and began to laugh.
Rigel to himself: "He knows magic? Perhaps he's more dangerous than I thought."
Rigel aloud: "Hah, I can see right through your aura shifting spell, Siegfried. To be honest, I had no idea you were even capable of performing magic! I was told you were a brand new adventurer."
Siegfried: "Well, whoever told you about me told you wrong. I happen to know a few spells other than sphaera, too, Rigel."
Rigel: "We'll see, Siegfried, let's see if you can dodge this! RI-FERRUM!"
     -Rigel cast a spell toward Azure, the black blade spun through the air as it made its way toward her-
Azure: "WHOA, THAT'S FAST!"
Siegfried: "Watch out Azure-san!"
     -Azure, dodging out of the way of Rigel's spell, looked at Siegfried, confused-
Azure: "Seigi-kun!? What do you mean you know more spells? You were only taught sphaera... did you happen to pick up another spell at the campsite or something?"
Siegfried: "I'll show you soon, Azure-san."
     -The ten dark mages then suddenly collected their power and cast one large-scale spell at the party-
Dark Mages: "NUBES!"
     -A dark cloud began to make its way toward Siegfried, this was a suffocation spell. If the party was caught in the cloud, the air would be sucked from their lungs! Azure stepped in front of Siegfried, and cast an advanced air spell to clear the cloud.
Azure: "Watch out Siegfried!"
Azure: "RI-VENTUS!"
     -Azure cast a gust spell, which sends a large wall of wind toward your opponent. The cloud was dissipated, and Rigel fell over. Azure then ran toward Rigel, and cast another spell-
Azure: "VOLVUN!"
     -Volvun is a spell that wraps your opponent's body in a whirlwind and throws them. Rigel was lifted off of his feet and thrown across the grass.
Rigel: "OOF!"
Rigel: "Ah, damn, that's a pretty powerful spell now that I think about it. Man, I should ask Deneb what he's capable of."
     -Rigel stood up and waved the dark mages over to where Azure was standing-
Azure: "Ummm, Siegfried, these mages are giving me weird looks, think you could demonstrate one of those spells right about now?? Sirgfrieddd?"
Siegfried to himself: "Shit, Rigel's playing it safe, trying to apprehend Azure before damaging me in any way... I can only call upon Camriel when my life is in danger, so saying the words now would do nothing for me... what do I do?"
Siegfried: "Hang on Azure-san!"
     -Siegfried had no wand with him, so he couldn't cast any combative spells, only neutral spells. To make matters worse, he truly only knew how to cast Sphaera! For now, he would have to distract the mages-
Siegfried: "Hey, you lot of hooded bums, look this way!"
     -The ten dark mages turned their attention to Siegfried, and aimed their wands at him. Siegfried glanced at Azure and nodded to her, she looked at Siegfried, and pulled her wand out-
Azure: "EX-VENTUS!"
     -Azure cast an even more powerful wind spell, the most powerful one available to her. The wall of wind barreled through the dark mages, sending them flying across the grasslands. Rigel was then overcome by the strong gusts of wind that soon followed, and fell to the ground again-
Dark Mages: "WAAAAAA!"
Rigel: "ARGH! *boom*"
Siegfried: "Holy shit, Azure, you're strong!"
Azure: "I know! Siegfried, do you have any weapons at all that you could use against Rigel? You said you were skilled with the sword, right?"
     -Siegfried pondered his options. He had no access to a sword, however, they were close enough to Oakheart, perhaps there could be a weapon in there for Siegfried to use. Siegfried looked at Azure and said-
Siegfried: "Azure-san! While your wind spell dissipates, follow me! Rigel is down and overcome by the gusts, let's make a run for it to Oakheart and find a sword for me to use! I'm sure they'll have one!"
Azure: "But your curse clock! You're running low on time! THE SUN IS RISING!"
Siegfried: "Just follow me, Azure-san!"
Azure: "Woa! Wo-OKAY SIEGFRIED!"
     -Rigel noticed the party making a run for Oakheart. He knew that if they managed to get in, that the battle would become much more challenging for him, as surely there would be a weapon for Siegfried to use in there.
Rigel: "GET UP YOU FAILURES, GO GET THEM BEFORE THEY GET TO OAKHEART!"
Dark Mages: "YES SIR!"
Rigel to himself: "She's stronger than I imagined, I'm going to have to take her down ASAP."
Siegfried: "Azure-san, AZURE, RIGEL IS BEHIND US!"
Azure: "Hang on, Siegfried!"
Azure: "VASTI!"
     -Azure turned around and cast a spell at Rigel. Vasti is a spell that causes a slight headwind to affect your opponent, slowing their movement until it dissipates.
Rigel: "Ah, more wind spells? Is that all this damn girl knows? I thought she was a water mage! What gives?"
Azure: "OL-AMNIS!"
     -Suddenly, Azure cast another spell. Amnis is a water spell that causes a stream of water to expel itself from your wand, hitting your opponent and dealing damage. Venium is a similar spell, causing a stream of poison to expel itself from your wand.
Rigel: "-- --"
Rigel: "Well, there's the water spell I asked for. Damnit, they're getting away! MAGES, AFTER THEM!"
Dark Mages: "Ri-Blink!"
     -The dark mages teleported themselves in front of the entrance to Oakheart-
Siegfried: "Azure-san! The mages teleported! We're going to have to barrel through them again! Do you have one more wind spell in you? We're almost to the entrance!"
Azure: "Yes, Siegfried! Allow me!"
Azure: "OL-VENTUS!"
     -Azure cast one more wind spell toward the dark mages, and they were flung over the city's walls!
People inside Oakheart: "AHHH! WHAT'S GOING ON, WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE!"
Siegfried: "Let's go, Azure! The entrance is right here!"
Azure: "I'm right behind you, Seigi-kun!"
     -The pair made their way into the town of Oakheart. It was a small town, but it was bustling with merchants and adventurers from all over the province. Rigel stopped at the gate, and walked in. 
Rigel: "MAGES, please, get up. Follow me, we're going to blend in until Siegfried and Azure return. OL-SPHAERA!"
     -Rigel shifted his aura to that of a brown bear, and the mages soon followed suit. They entered the town-
Siegfried: "Azure-san! There's a weapons shop right over there! Let's find a sword, and fast!"
Azure: "Okay, Siegfried!"
     -Siegfried and Azure ran into a weapons shop and were greeted by a tall burly man with reddish-gray hair, wearing chainmail armor. He had the aura of a master swordsman slashing through the woods. He looked at them, concerned, and asked-
???: "What brings you two into my shop so erratically? How can I help?"
Siegfried: "There's no time to explain, sir! There's a dark mage cultist in your town, and I need a sword, any sword, to take him down! Please!"
     -The man looked Siegfried in his eyes, his aura became stronger-
???: "A cultist? Boy, you should just let me handle this, I've fought off many dark mages in my prime days as an adventurer, I can take him on for ya! Lead me to him!"
Siegfried: "No, you don't understand! This cultist is POWERFUL, his clothes are different than the rest of the mages he brought along with him."
???: "My boy, did you say he brought more dark mages with him?"
Siegfried: "YES, HE HAS TEN OF THEM."
???: "-- --"
???: "ten... boy, do you realize who I am?"
     -The burly man looked at the pair and gave a hearty laugh. He then picked up a large claymore off of the wall, its blade shined brilliantly. He turned to them, and said-
???: "My name is Jurgen. I am a retired knight of the League of Knights. Although I may be getting old, my heart still burns with the passion for the League! I was a high-ranking member of the league, with over 200 confirmed kills. I should have no issue..."
Siegfried: "That's a little bit more reassuring, however, if you can, try and keep him alive. I need him to break my curse! He's a shaman, and cursed me 20 hours ago, in four hours, I'll die!"
Jurgen: "Now, my boy, THAT is concerning to me. I'll apprehend the shaman, and make sure he breaks your curse. I'll threaten his life if he doesn't."
     -Siegfried looked at Jurgen with a look of defeat, and said-
Siegfried: "Thing is, I'm sure he'd rather die than break my curse. He seems to have been sent by someone to kill me, I heard him talking about "orders", so he probably has a contract on my life!"
Jurgen: "Nobody will value anything above their own life, except for the ones they love. He will break your curse. Now, let's get going my boy! Here, take this smaller sword, it's very sharp, so be careful with it!"
     -Jurgen handed Siegfried a shortsword, and together, they left the weapon shop. Rigel was outside waiting for them...
Rigel: "I've been waiting patiently for you, Siegfried. I see you found some reinforcements of your own. However, your party is still only 3 members big, which is nothing compared to my eleven. Prepare yourself, Siegfried, your time is up."
Siegfried: "That's what you think, Rigel, I'd be careful with what you say..."
Rigel: "Eh? What are you talking about, Siegfried?"
Siegfried: "...this..."
     -Suddenly, Jurgen, with the speed of a cheetah, lunged toward one of the ten dark mages. He pulled his claymore out and slashed the air. The sound that the blade made when it sliced the air was crisp. The dark mage stood there for a good 3 seconds before the left half of his body slid down and hit the ground. The dark mage had been completely cut down the middle!
Rigel "WHAT!? WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?"
Siegfried: "Turn around and find out for yourself."
     -Rigel turned around and noticed the burly man, standing behind him. His eyes were glowing menacingly. He drew his claymore and said these words-
Jurgen: "My name is Jurgen Lamberdt, retired leader of the League of Knights, and father of the current highest-ranking knight in the League of Knights, Klaus Lamberdt. I will not allow you to step any further into my town..."
     -Siegfried wore an expression of shock-
Siegfried to himself: "wait... did he say, father of the highest-ranking knight?"
Rigel: "Hmmm, the lord of the sword's father has come to fight me? Interesting. Were it to be Klaus himself, I might have just retreated! But you're getting old, so I think I can handle you..."
Siegfried: "...lord of the sword?"
     -Siegfried thought back to when he first entered the Guild House back in Formai. He thought about the scarlet-haired knight that resided there. Could Jurgen his father? They both had red hair...
     -Jurgen looked at Siegfried and said-
Jurgen: "Siegfried-dono, do you know how to use a sword?"
Sirgfried: "Yes sir! I am quite proficient with the sword."
Jurgen: "Splendid, now then, shall we begin, cultist?"
Rigel: "The name's Rigel, and yes, let us re-begin this battle, from scratch, Siegfried and Jurgen..."
     -Rigel and the 9 other dark mages drew their wands. As they did so, the inhabitants of the town retreated to their homes, shut their windows, and barricaded their doors. They had seen many dark mage raids before and had a protocol in place for each battle. 
Azure: "Siegfried, is there anything you need me to do?"
Siegfried: "Azure-san, for now, if either of us is injured, provide healing spells. If you can, try to also apply status effects to Rigel with your magic, Jurgen and I will take care of dealing the heavy damage."
Azure: "Sounds good, Seigi-kun. Be careful, okay?"
Siegfried: "Of course, Azure-san. We aren't trying to kill him, only injure him. He needs to be alive to remove my curse..."
     -Thinking about his new reinforcement, Jurgen, and his background, Siegfried felt more confident in his chances of success. Perhaps he wouldn't have to call upon Camriel after all. But just in case, she was still an option...
Rigel: "EX-ANGUIS!"

A high tier knight by the name of Wildu Lagus found himself within an unfamiliar place. His long purple hair made him stand out among the other knights.

Granted, he was inside of a dungeon before and now he was inside of a dungeon again, but somehow, he could tell something was different.

"Where am I?"

He started to look around.

Yet, none seemed to be there.

"Anyone here? Knight of Mind! Knight of Ice! Are you nearby?"

"It's no use shouting, they are many miles away from us"

Immediately, Wildu Lagus stood on guard, raising his sword with his left hand.

He almost did not sense his presence, but now that he saw him, Wildu could clearly see the man in front of him.

His shoulder length black hair covered the right side of his face, but the side Wildu could see belonged to a young man with crimson left eye that seemed to glow with eerie shine.

He was dressed in ordinary clothing, with a single sword at his waist.

"Who are you?"

"The one who invited you, obviously"

"Invited…Are you the one behind the disappearance of Holy Maidens?!"

"Hmmm, before I answer that question, do you mind if we have a chat? It is not like the first time we talked, but I did find our conversations very refreshing, giving me such new perspectives….though in this loop, we have not met yet, my apologies. After doing this so many times, it is getting harder and harder for me to keep track of what I did or did not do."

Wildu couldn't help but think. His sword was raised on guard, expecting his enemy to attack him at any moment.

Though, I am still going to tear her into pieces, as soon as I get my hands on her…ha ha ha…"

He continued on his mad rant.

"Ahh, the liberation, the true taste of freedom, how have I grown to enjoy it! Breath of fresh air, so many ideas and plans that I can implement upon this world, and infinite number of trials for me to conduct to accomplish them! Isn't that the ultimate dream? She may have done it to make it my nightmare, to turn me into one of her garden gnomes…But strange thing is, the more you feel pain and suffering, the less you care; only the thrill remains. And isn't that the point? Thrill of living again and again, it is rather overwhelming, like a tsunami that seems to rock my world without stop….but now, I am the master of the wave."

"What are you talking about!?"

"It is simple, really. I just realized, even if I had the choice of going back, I would rather stay. Even if I find the Shinigami, I no longer wish to go with her. I mean, first of all, she is not the same Shinigami I knew, since this is a version of her from the past, well, your present. You get the point"

"Secondly, Chronos might not be able to harm her, but I can't be so sure about the other gods, if Chronos somehow manages to convince the other gods to kill her, then….Let's not think about it"

Now he proceeded to raise his right arm up into the air, his index finger pointing forward.

"And last but not least, I like existing. Over time, I can feel him resurfacing every now and then, and so far I managed to wrestle the control over the body and mind, but if I chose to go back, I am afraid, I might disappear."

"I mean, the only reason I broke free from his heart and sealed him away within it was because he gave up. If I were to give up what makes my existence worthwhile, then I shall be trapped within the heart once again, but this time permanently."

He made a small gesture with his right hand.

"If there is anything that strikes fear in me, it is the notion of ceasing to exist. I do not fear death; I have died too many times in order for it to have any effect on me by now. No. I realize now, what I fear is him coming back, and if he does, I will be gone. And I really can't have that happen, not until I pay back the gods and kingdom tenfold!"

Laughing a little, young man tilted his head to the side.

"I realize none of my words might make sense to you, but it is such a release, to just shout my thoughts out loud, I am afraid that I cannot fully confide in my subordinates, lest they think I am mad"

"You are mad!"

"Perhaps, perhaps not. It is just a matter of perspective. My point is….I like being here. You, the warriors of the human kingdom truly made my existence such a fun experience, and I couldn't thank you enough!"

With a mocking gesture, the young man made short bow.

"Now then, back to your original question. I am known as the Dark Lord. And yes, I am the one behind the disappearance of Holy Maidens"

"What?! You bastard!"

Wildu Lagus proceeded to use his magic and shot blasts of fire from his left hand.

Among the knights that accompanied the heroes, Wildu was exceptional. He was a high-tier knight, almost at the level of Holy Knight.

Each level: Knight, Holy Knight, and Hero, could be divided into three sub levels: low-tier, mid-tier, and high-tier.

But even among the knights, he was a rising talent, a young man with a bright future ahead of him. He had high ambitions, goal to eventually become a hero.

He had the guts, determination, and talent to achieve what he wanted in life.

Gods may not have given him a blessing, but he was born with a special talent for magic. No matter what kind of magic it is, as long as he has enough mana and is strong enough to cast it, he is able to copy it after witnessing it once.

Of course, his copied spells are only as strong as he could muster. If a hero level person were to cast a spell and Wildu copied it, obviously, his version was going to be inferior to the version cast by a hero.

But that only meant that he needed to become stronger, he could do that while copying more and more spells, so when he eventually reached the level of a hero, he would be as if not more powerful than the greatest hero, his idol, the Knight of Light.

As the blasts of fire shot at him, Dark Lord proceeded to skillfully dodge them.

"Well, that was a rather rough conversation stopper"

Dark Lord proceeded to block a strike from Wildu's sword with his own sword in his left hand.

Wildu was strong and skilled, but Dark Lord was moving as though he instinctively knew where Wildu would strike next.

As their swords collided, Wildu pressed on, but Dark Lord casually swatted away all, of his attacks.

"Level 4 spell: Water Saw!"

Wildu proceeded to unleash his spell.

But instead of being cut in two after Wildu threw the spinning, razor sharp disk of water at him, Dark Lord's body was unharmed as the spell faded into nothing.

"But how? You should be dead!"

"Protection against Water. Afraid you are going to have to try harder than that"

Again, their swords collided, but this time, Wildu managed to push him back a little.

"Level 3 spell: Water Lagoon!"

Wildu proceeded to generate an enormous amount of water under his command, unleashing it at Dark Lord.

"Did you not hear me? Water does no harm to me"

"Level 3 spell: Ice Blast!"

This was an inferior version of the spell used by Knight of Ice, who used level 5 and above versions, but with Wildu's current ability, this would have to do.

With the water Dark Lord was soaked in combined with the ice magic, he managed to trap Dark Lord in thick layer of ice.

"You are now my prisoner! I will be taking you with me for questioning…."

But what he saw made Wildu's eyes open wide in disbelief.

Dark Lord's right arm was moving within the ice.

"Impossible! Even if this was an inferior version of the spell, all the blood within him should have frozen; he should not be able to move…"

But now, Dark Lord's right arm proceeded to flex its bicep, and with it, the ice ended up shattering into pieces.

"Fire magic is ineffective, water has no effect, and strongest spell I currently have is rendered utterly useless…Close combat it is!"

Wildu proceeded to attack Dark Lord who just broke free from ice.

With a battle yell, Wildu proceeded to stab Dark Lord with his sword, easily piercing into his body.

"Now, you are finished!"

But Dark Lord's expression was very calm, instead of cringing from pain, he smiled.

"I am afraid I am not that easy to kill"

"What!"

As Dark Lord's right hand moved, Wildu proceeded to let go of his sword and used his magic power on his left hand.

This was a close range magic, level 2 spell: Disintegration.

Stronger versions of the spell had greater effects but were harder to control but this level of the spell was perfect for disarming an opponent with a single touch, and at the moment, it was the only version of the spell he could perform.

As Wildu grabbed hold of Dark Lord's right hand, he proceeded to use his magic on him.

The glove Dark Lord was wearing along with portions of his clothing was shredded away, revealing what was underneath.

Wildu gasped in surprise.

What he was holding on to was a completely skeletal hand.

And no matter how much mana he used, Dark Lord's skeletal hand was still there.

"Surprised?"

"But how? Your hand should have been reduced to dust, not turn skeletal…"

But then, Wildu saw Dark Lord's entire face.

Pair of mismatched eyes, one red and one glowing white was staring at him, but that was not the scariest part.

The scariest part was his face, half of it was missing any skin or muscles on it, just a plain skull with the lidless eye perpetually open.

"You! Are you undead?"

"Who knows?"

As the two of them struggled against each other, Wildu felt his left hand crushed by the skeletal fingers.

He screamed in pain, but in an instant, the sensation of pain was gone, and Dark Lord disappeared.

Wildu felt a very strange sensation on his left arm.

As he reached for his pouch, he realized what was wrong.

His left hand was no longer there.

Most of the forearm was attached, but the wrist was completely gone.

His inaudible scream was stuck within his throat.

"Always wanted to find out for myself just how good these Teleportation Rings were, and lo and behold, they don't disappoint. Seems like hiring Luka was a good choice after all"

As the Dark Lord approached the trembling Wildu, he uttered.

"Would you like me to give you a hand?" He offered the severed limb to him, almost like he was doing him a favor.

"You bastard!"

Wildu used his right hand to take out his dagger and lunged at Dark Lord.

But being left handed, his right hand was rather clumsy.

Dark Lord easily disarmed him before slamming him into the wall head first.

"Wildu Lagus, I am truly grateful for the training you have given me, I truly do. Now, it is time for you to sleep"

Before he closed his eyes for the last time, Wildu saw green light emanating out of Dark Lord's right hand.

As the light swallowed him whole, Wildu thought on the inside.

'Is this the end that I was fated to have? All my talent, all my potential, all of my future….Dreams I pursued…Just to end like this….Was it all for nothing? It is not fair….It's not fair….Why me…?'

Within moments, the process was complete and the zombie was ready to go.

Panting heavily after using the Converting Light, Dark Lord sat on the ground to catch his breath.

"Well, I do believe Knight of Mind already fell into the trap Lukalis and Kyra set up, so now, just to put the icing on the cake…"

"We beat them!"

Knight of Mind declared.

"They were not liches, so they were easier to deal with, but inside this dungeon, I could not risk using many of my large scale spells without harming our own forces, but I guess smashing them into bits is good enough."

"Ser Rison! Look, their clothing and the armor they are wearing, they are same as ours!"

One of the knights made a startling discovery after wiping off the dirt off the armor one of the undead was wearing.

"Don't tell me…the disappearances of the knights within barracks were at the hands of the undead as well..." Knight of Ice held his chin in deep thought.

Situation seems to be getting worse and worse.

Holy Order needed to be informed of this immediately.

But then, he sensed a movement coming in their direction.

Immediately, Knight of Ice was on guard, but then, he saw a familiar person with long purple hair hanging off his shoulders.

It was his protégé, Wildu Lagus, a knight he saw a huge promise in.

"Lagus! Is that you? Come here, you might want to see this…Lagus?"

As Wildu approached him, Knight of Ice clearly saw his face.

It was the rotting green flesh of an undead, his movements were strange and stiff, and some of his flesh was peeling off.

As Lagus, now a zombie proceeded to lunge at him, Knight of Ice could not bring himself to strike him.

But before the zombie could infect him, Knight of Mind struck it down and quickly beheaded it.

Now staring at what was left of his subordinate, Knight of Ice muttered.

"Undead did this to him. Only a lich can turn a human into one of them….Undead…they will pay…"

Knight of Ice's hands were trembling.

"Creos…"

"Cereb… he was my protégé, my pupil, he was like a little brother to me. Whoever did this must pay! You said his name was Dark Lord, right? If I find him, I will have my revenge!"

"Then I guess we have the same goal"

"Until we find this 'Dark Lord', I am willing to work with you. But let me make this clear, once we catch him, I will be the one to end him, am I clear?"

"Crystal"

"Perfect" Knight of Ice proceeded to clench his fist.

"Ser Belius, Ser Rison, we need to take the Holy Maidens to the Holy Order, maybe they can fix them?" Livon addressed the heroes.

"Yes, of course" Knight of Mind muttered.

"Right" Knight of Ice was obviously furious, with the very air around him emanating an aura of frost, but strangely he held back from striking down anyone in cold blood.

As they searched the dungeon, they only managed to find some of their men.

Overall, they suffered large losses.

Of the thirty or so knights that entered the dungeon, only twelve knights and two Heroes, managed to get out of the dungeon alive.

But they managed to accomplish their objective- retrieving the Holy Maidens, but at what a price….

"But the Holy Maiden of Water? Is she not here?" Livon asked, concerned about not finding her among the rest.

"No…I can't sense any other living being here. In most likely scenario, she is already dead" Knight of Mind uttered.

"We got four out of five, we should count ourselves lucky"

Knight of Ice stared away at the distance, still mourning the loss of his friend.

* * *

"Well, that went perfectly!"

Dark Lord declared, in his attendance were the Shadow Lords, each of whom now supplied him with fresh batches of humans to experiment with.

There were a couple of women knights, they were sent to the goblin caves to be used as breeding stock.

Of course, the few goblins he used for this operation were the weakest of the bunch, the ones that could not evolve and remained at their weakest forms, in other words, they were the runt of the litter.

Considering now he had more than a thousand of them, using the failed fifty was not a big issue.

The Holy Maidens had served their purpose, giving birth to as many goblins as possible until their bodies literally became unable to bear any more goblins.

Even if the Holy Order manages to restore their minds, they will be permanently scarred, and most importantly, now with their purity gone, they shall never be able to cast the barrier over the Holy City ever again.

"Now the Holy Order will be under the impression that the demons and undead are conspiring, allowing our forces to act from the shadows….still, I wonder how the Holy Order is faring, considering our recent exploits…"

As each member of Shadow Lords listened well to his words, Dark Lord declared.

"This calls for a celebration! We shall have a feast tonight!"

Applauses followed as the Dark Lord raised a single cup of wine to make a toast.

"To the end of the Kingdom!"

"TO THE END OF THE KINGDOM!!!"

The Shadow Lords repeated his words with their glasses raised.

If anyone was watching this bizarre celebration, without a doubt, they would have found it profoundly disturbing.
