Unfortunately he was the only one to survive the crash landing as most likely because he was the only nonhuman among the crew not that they knew any of that. Jay joined the crew on this voyage to hopefully find another habitable planet to live on as the toll of the humans harvesting all of earth's resources has started to make Earth uninhabitable. And the need for a new planet to inhabit is dire.
