But put yourself in Nathan's shoes as someone who has never been exposed to such experience and with no knowledge of any who has. His first natural instinct would be to experiment and learn it and that is what he's doing. Moreover, he is using the 'keep your enemies closer' and baiting method to implement what he has in store for her. I've read all the comments, and I understand the points but I will reiterate again.
