You know like when you know you have a clear cut victory in your sight, so you want to take detours and all while doing something more risky and unwarranted things. Hmm... let's compare by something like attribute stats. So, MC's STR = Beast's STR but MC's AGI < Beast's AGI so MC luckily got one hit on the beast's eye while the beast was not too serious about the match up and already entangled by the girls. but wounded animals are more sharp and instinctive and ruthless, thus MC didn't get any more hits and gets injured instead
