Everything has a purpose, and I think a tiny barrier like this is required for Nihil to overcome who and what his predecessor was.
However, before he returned to Doom, he also made sure to spend some time with Darla, she was family to him, and he couldn't stop himself from spending time with her. She was like a daughter to him.

There is a bit of romance, but ends early on. Mc is an Antihero and becomes a Villain
Thank you so much! I appreciate that greatly. I hope you continue to enjoy!
To explain further would be spoilers but yes, I'm like 90% certain its not prominent after this arc. You'll know what I mean at the end of the arc
"If you think that, then you never found out the truth about her. She was far more flawed than either of us knew. Yet, even so, I still wish she didn't die. Flaws are what make something exciting; it's what makes something real, human...in a sense. Luna was far more human than either of us, but it doesn't change the fact that she's dead."

Well it builds up and I think the end of the arch makes it worth it. But I don't wish to say much. But there will be another "good guy" scenario

I will admit this is a bit of a slow burn as I keep going back to things. But I also think that's what people do, look back on their life and grow confused when they changed so much and so on. I will warn you, the next arch will be annoying, but it leads to my second favorite arch. My favorite arch being the one I'm writing right now.

A moment of doubt opens the opportunity for a life of conviction.

I like letting people read for free, I think that is the baseline I should do. Also, I am not contracted by webnovel but even if I was I like everything I write to be free on some level.
