Well Mission impossible was were we got to see how far can a stunt be called dangerous and crazy so for me I think he did most of them by himself
He might even go so far as to meet a real bear and possibly have a boxing match with it. Tom Cruise was a professional actor and he was known for his stunts. (Note: I'm still skeptical about this. If it's true, no insurance company is going to sign a contract with Tom Cruise. He probably only does stunts that are safe).
