What I find ridiculous is making Jeyne an enemy, something that should realistically not have happened, seeing as the MC was all but raised in the Vale. I understand what you're trying to do author-san, but the way you did it just does not make much sense, since Jeyne should at the least developed familial affections for him as he was her key backer against a Kingdom filled with Lords who wanted her usurped by her male cousin. Theirs also the fact that they should have grown up with each other, which generally strengthens a relationship, not whatever the fuck this is.
"He did it," said Jeyne categorically before adding softly, "Believe me when I tell you that he did it."

She's not a Targaryen descendant just yet. That's like a century from now. Though, considering the beauty of every single Black Pearl (even before targ blood) and Daemon's lust, this generation's could be.
"Mysaria is Baelon's mother," Daemon said defensively but kept a relatively calm tone.

Hopefully not too strong...
'A man like me, capable of selling his own children to climb the ladder of power,' I thought.

They also don't take kindly for a rightful male heir being stripped of their lands. The key point, though, is that the MC has a dragon, and without his territories to restrain him, none of his enemies are safe. Damn, that sounded edgy af, but the point is they can't afford to antagonize him.
'I wonder what her choice will be once I break with her: endure the humiliation while trying to maintain maximum control in the Vale or use her family ties with Rhaenyra to force me to leave the Vale and become a lord without lands, given the broken pact between us.'

He was playing dumb. It's hinted before that he has plans to get out of his betrothal.
"I remind you that I have a dragon," I said, confident.

Daemon is more than anything ruled by his emotions and ambitions. Thus, he often does things that can negatively impact him with little thought. He's by no means stupid when cool-headed, just incredibly short-sighted.
"That doesn't make him any less of a dangerous adversary," I said before adding, "If you ever want to be queen, you'd better have him in your pocket; otherwise, I can promise you that your ass will never touch the Iron Throne."

Not necessarily. Keep in mind that both Hoster's daughters were married to Lord Paramounts, his grandsons were heirs to the two adjacent kingdoms, and both son-in-laws were firmly tied to the Crown. He also has a healthy and living heir. If it wasn't for the Lannister twin's incest and the events that followed, the Tullys would have had a real shot to strengthen their position in the Riverlands and achieve a respectable amount of authority that overtime would have made them a genuine Great House.
I remember that in my previous life, I had seen a quote on the internet that said: 'The best way to win the Game Of Thrones is not to play it.'

He can't or no longer cares enough to do so. When the woman you consider a second mother dies because of the actions of your 'family', logic and common sense will quickly leave your mind. I believe that the MC subconsciously wants to see their legacy tarnished and that they face the consequences of their actions.
My uncle, the king, of course, made his daughter his heir while marrying the daughter of his Hand of the King, a rookie mistake that would cost his daughter the throne.

More passive, rather than spineless. He just retains his spine at the absolute worst moment.
I don't know if he was really doing all this for me, but in any case, I was happy because thanks to him, I would gain a good reputation as the future Lord of Runestone and have the resources of the second most powerful House in the Vale.

A goddamn retarded decision in hindsight, consider that such a precedent could be forced on their descendants in the future.
"I doubt it. She hasn't shown much enthusiasm towards me during our previous exchanges. I think she never will, given that she was supplanted by my own father. But we have nothing to lose, because if Aemon manages to depose you, very likely invoking the precedent of the Great Council, which the lords of the realm, all male, will immediately validate with the support of the Hightowers, I will be next on the list. At that point, we will have lost everything: the Vale, the Iron Throne… In short, we will have lost absolutely everything."
