I believe I did not express correctly. What I meant was that he could use his opponents to know about other opponents, too. He used Netero to know about how he his hatsu. He could also use him to know about his fight with Meruem(or information about Ging) since it was established that knowing an opponent better reduces the cost of summoning him, either way Netero was the chairman of the association, he also went to the dark continent, Rayleigh only needs to survive to get to know this information in most cases(if netero ia willing to share). This could not be used with every opponent due to some of them now answering his inquires. Please let me know if something is not clear. Sometimes, I have trouble expressing myself.
Not many Players other than Ki Warriors used the Player's Arena as much as Rayleigh did and he had discovered a few of its hidden features through trial and error. Netero was not the type to make the first move against someone who might be weaker than he was and he didn't mind giving pointers if the recipient entertained him enough. That allowed Rayleigh to create a situation where he could obtain information from a dead guy, something most Players would never think to use the Arena to try.
