4 Finally, to clear up the confusion. I am aware that none of it has been revealed in the books themselves. I was trying to point out what would have to happen for your theory of Esther and Ember being the same person to be plausible. It was supposed to convey how I understand the connection of those two timelines using your theory that Ember and Esther are the same person.

3 Now in my understanding of the word celibate, I am using a definition of someone who abstains from that kind of relationship. This definition leaves a possibility of him having slept with a woman in the past. Another official definition refers to someone who remains unmarried, which again does not require him to be untouched. While yes, he as a divine beast cannot have more than one mate and he wouldn't sleep with anyone alse than Ember, that does not mean he couldn't have done it before meeting her. Which means, that he could have had Dray with Esther and then met Ember. Also, it's what others have called him, given his personality I don't think he would go around telling people that he slept with someone, even if it's Esther. Unless missed something, Esther always referred to Draven as his soulmate, not mate. Even when she discussed her inability to have children, she pointed at the Ashirin flower and called him her soulmate. I have already mentioned that those words can refer to different concepts. There was no mention of mate having to be your soulmate, only that it's initiated by a male marking a female. And while we do not know for certain whether the mark can be erased (giving Esther the inability to show it to Tyra) or not, we are told that they have to complete the bond within a month or suffer the consequences. If Esther and Ember were the same person, at he very least, Esther would not have been untouched when she married Theron. Which we are told during their wedding night twice. First by saying that she has never done that before and later by saying it's natural for a woman to feel scared during her first time. Her remembering their history in the library or on different occasions has been kept vague and could refer to before the war. In her dream, when she was asking for a child just like Draven, she is specified to have honey blond hair. If it was Ember, there wouldn't really be a reason to change her appearance.

2 I went back and found the metion of Evanthe I was referring to previously. It happened towards the end of chapter 69-Stay away from her. Now, would it be possible for Ember to not only adopt the prior monarch's appearance as well as her name? It would even be an obvious choice. However, I have some problems with this theory. When Draven and Esther spend the night together, he would have called her Ember as that would be her real name. Plus, wouldn't she reveal her name as Ember in the list she left Theron? Furthermore, to slightly slightly explain of why the original Eminence would have to die is because Esther is seen having the mark of the monarch of the witches, by both Lady Tyra and Theron. Theron, thanks to his research, later reveals that it can only be on one person at a time. Could Ember have recreated it as a part of her camouflage? Maybe, but if the original Evanthe is alive wouldn't it be easier to just be someone else? Why her in particular? As for Ember being older in Draven's dreams, we already know that she herself looks younger than her actual age due to the way she grew up. It may be that his dreams are really memories and she will grow up to that appearance since she is at least currently a human. As you said we still don't have enough information, so we can only wait and see.

1 First of all, I appreciate the time you put into going back and rereading your comment. Thank you for your enlightenment, I would like to explain my POV, especially the last part that you found confusing. I admit, I have not expressed myself properly. Nevertheless, let's start from the beginning. I do remember Esther showing the emerald green eyes to Theron as she was using her powers. It is a compelling point, since Leeora mentioned that it is an unusual colour and she has never seen it before. While it is a possibility that she has been using glamour to change her appearance to that of the previous Eminence as a cover, it rises the question of why her hair colour didn't slip as well. However, I do agree that there might be a reason for that in the way this world's magic system works. While I believe there is a reason for her eyes to change, considering other points, it is not enough for me to think they are the same person. Allow me to elaborate. While we do not know what happened during the Great War, we are made aware that people in Agartha are not exactly friendly towards humans. As Evanthe is someone who has witnessed it herself and done something forbidden to help protect her fellow citizens, I believe it would be understandable for her to be wary of humans. Furthermore, as an immortal who does not age, avoiding humans as much as possible would be one of the things she needed to do. Although we are not given an explanation as to why exactly she left and could not stay in one place for too long, we are told it would be dangerous to those around her, which would be another reason to live in seclusion. By refraining from contact with humans she can better hide her identity as a supernatural and not risk others becoming a collateral. So while Ember would resort to forest life as an instinct, someone else may choose that life given the circumstances.

Well, although I am not sure which comment you are referring to, Morpheus said something along the lines that he wishes that in times like those Evanthe was there. The Ashirin flower which decided that Evanthe/Eshter and Draven are soulmates was explained, at least to my understanding, to point you to someone who you are destined to fall in love with and be with although that was not possible in thier case. In order to make Esther and Ember into the same person, she would not only have to be using a spell to change her appearance, wouldn't it imply that she as the monarch of the witches died and has been reborn as Ember and then decided to be Evanthe again? Draven has seen Ember in his dreams about the missing memories of his past, so he would have recognized her even before that. Wouldn't that be a complicated timeline? So to sum it up, you're saying that thousand years ago Draven has known someone with mahogany hair, emerald green eyes and the mark of the diety of fire, something happend, she stabbed him and he woke up with no memories. Then he met a different woman, with a completly different appearance, who is actually the same woman, she became the monarch of the witches, fallen in love with him and when Agartha was attacked, she did something forbidden and was forced to leave the kingdom and travel the world. Before she left Draven gave her the Ashirin flower, so she could find the one she was supposed to love, which turned out to be him. Then she died, been reborn as a cursed princess with the same appearance as thousand years ago. Met Draven again, he marked her. Now in the upcoming chapters she is supposed to remember not only what happened all those years ago, she is also supposed to remember her implied identity of Evanthe, leave again, change her appearance to how Evanthe/Esther look, save Queen Theodora, get married to Theron and have Drayce. To me it doesn't make sense, could you possibly point me to the comment which explains why is it impossible for Ember and Ester to be different people? I am afraid that without those points I am apparently missing I am unable to same your point of view.

If I am not mistaken Esther's real name is Evanthe, Draven calls her that the morning after and she writes her real name in the list she leaves Theron. Plus they look different and this story has already mentioned Evanthe as the monarch of the witches several times.
