Honestly I just hate weak main characters because it always ends with them having to lose someone precious that they start to get stronger and I hate seeing them be at the mercy of the strong but I agree a getting OP to fast would make the story boring but I think the MC should still end up getting OP just be slightly slower(compared to other fanfics) about it also you could start focusing more on SOL, Romance, side character and relationship development and kingdom building once he does get OP so its not like it will be all that boring because there is more to a story than just suffering and chasing strength!
