The uzumaki's problem is not that they are in a war zone, they are rather far from it since they are on an island. Whatever happens, they will be targeted for their fujinjutsu or their lineage, so they might as well stay on their island where they have the advantage, because even if they are all dead in the end, why go elsewhere to get killed more easily?
