i think i remember in one of authors interview that there were otherworldly demons before fate gu was damaged, but since fate gu was complete it could control them better, apparently them coming to gu world is somekind of end of story spoiler so he didn't elaborate much but there is a theory that since he gu world keeps expanding the heavens will is bringing these otherwordly demons to obtain their dao marks in their soul after they die (all otherwordly demons have them there was ine rank 8 immortal using whon the HC refined a gu, its kind of a hazy)
