I think Lisa, the one currently being held captive, used the pendant to lock Elly, her friend, inside the dressing room so that Elly wouldn't be caught. It took me a few tears to get to this understanding, but this seems to make the most sense to me considering the little that we know of the girls.

Not really, the doctor's have already determined that the chances of them being able to create children are very low. And then its also only been a month since their last checkup, so imo the doctor's are being very reasonable. Admittedly, I can imagine how this could result in something negative happening to a patient, but the chances of the patient actually being sick at that point in time and considering all the factors, are extremely low.
