i really like how you portray him here as it humanizes him and gives him a lot of depth showing that deep down he was/is just a kid longing for love and someone to trust but never having anyone like that which turned him onto the path he is on now He is not inherently evil/uncaring but just broken
The days when he wished for someone to save him from his loneliness, he saw the type of savior in her and yet why did he never meet anyone like her to save him then? That's probably why just her actions and presence alone ate at him, but unknowingly it still was able to reach his estranged heart.
