History kind of proves the point swords are nowadays mostly ceremonial and my comment about them being big is compared to knives, bayonets or trench shovels, tomahawks(type of axe). You even answered it yourself if only officers use it then its not regular equipment and not many officers would normaly be engaged it trench warfare. Also proper sword training takes more time which is why I used the word inneficient. At the same time making swords is expensive. The novel starts at the end of the 19th century and because of the advances in technology it makes cavalry and sabers obsolete not that they could not be useful but machine guns just decimate charges. Also I just mentined examples of melee weapons that could have uses and are more efficient, cheaper and useful that sabers/swords. Cavalry lost its effectivness with the end of the napoleonic wars because it was easier to deal with them. Horses are still important mode of transport and more useful for scouting in certain terrain but not cavalry as a whole.

The era of the sword had long since passed. Guns and bayonets had replaced the need for close quarters combat in most cases. And though the militaries of the day continued to delude themselves with chivalric notions of cavalry charges, the sad truth of the matter is such units became obsolete decades ago.

Melee combat and weapons are still a thing but not swords because they are to big and bothersome even you mentioned clubs or knives not swords. Axes, hammers, shovels, clubs, knives or even brass knuckles are still very useful in situations especially in a melee but not swords. And cavalry charges although not totally eliminated highly inneficient so in resume the author is totally on point.

2004 draft why no mention of Iguoadala even after Yu fei played with him at the abcd camp? really hope to see Yu fei interacting with other Nba or future Nba players in the offseason. A meet up with Roy and some people from highschool or abcd camp. also some more interaction with his Gf would be great.

Entertaining sports Novel. Really appreciating all the news updates and interviews which provide more insight and background to the story. Would like to see more character building and introduce 1 or 2 more characters to interact with MC. Flesh out MCs life outside the NBA and add a Friend that can go with him or increase Lawson and others roles. Since MC is from the Future have him talk to management about a couple of draft picks(1 or 2 allstars and role players). Hope to see 1 of his teammates from ABCD camp to get drafted to his team and he starts to develop his friendship with Brandon Roy, Iguodala and other nba players.

Interesting premise and a promising start to the story. Mc is interesting and I see some potential for his character evolution. Translation quality leaves room for improvement and certain expressions or phrases should be explained if mentioned repeatedly.

He has 4 children before the twins. Adding the twins makes 6. he is saying he is not nervous before the twins birth because he has already experienced the birth of his first 4 children

Moreover, now the father of four children, Lu Changsheng had grown used to seeing births and no longer felt the initial tension and excitement.

Thank you for translating this novelThere was a chapter about a night air raid on the pontoon bridge where the invention of the radar was described(supposed to be death ray to incapacitate pilots) but I cant find it anymore
