With the lovely lady already naked in front of him, Arran began sparkling at the critical moment and he cursed himself for not waiting until nightfall and leaving the curtains open. "That's lame bro," she said while putting her clothes back on before leaving the room. Arran let out a loud sigh, feeling torn between the frustration of his eternal celibacy and happiness at the fact that Snowcloud could still be his first.

"The way they see it, we'll soon become heroes," Barric said. The giant Ranger had joined Arran and Kaleesh at the head of the column, along with several of the other Rangers in the army. "Or martyrs, if we're less fortunate. But either way, we're risking our lives to defend their homes." A wide grin appeared on his face, and he added, "When we return, you should visit the city with me. See how the women of Sacrifice welcome heroes."

Shouldn't Arran already have a dagger in his void ring? from the Knight Shir sent to kill Kaleesh.

A dark grin flashed across Arran's face. "It's a good thing they didn't warn Shir. We promised to find Baqi a Shadowblade, and I'd like to have some spares." He absently touched the hilt of his weapon. "Besides, I really need to test the full strength of these new bloodlines."

I didn't word that part well, but it was implied that I'm excited we're finally about to see action. As for the rest, while I still enjoyed the chapter, I don't disagree with what you said about being disappointed after waiting for two weeks.

It was a joke about how Arran is going to amass more Shadowblades.

Jirni bought Kamila a few dozen chapters at best. Just get it over with, we know it won't last.

My point was that he's not a Lord in the context of power and can thus be easily restrained by introducing his nose to Arran's fist; in the Imperium the title is only held by those with the power to match it, to my knowledge at least. Kaleesh didn't address any lordlings as lords as far as I remember.

At this, Nisra's eyes widened in shock. "Absolutely not! If he were to die…" She shook her head, as if the very thought of it was outrageous. "Under no circumstances should he come to harm. Should he die, you will instantly unite the Martial Alliance against you. You can defeat his army, but Shir himself cannot be touched."

Arran was a Knight the moment he stepped into Enlightenment; then he had some practice in Panurge's dream to build on top of it. Now his already monstrous strength doubled even while in the Desolation (which apparently affects him less than others) and he got used to the suppression. He should absolutely destroy a single Knight in seconds, which gives him a shot at facing more than one at once.

"Three Knights?" This time, it was Arran who grinned. "I don't think that will be a problem."

He's a lordling, not a Lord.
