I know a few ways water was pumped in the past. a comon method is using a waterwheel or a wind mill. another method was using pipes around a furnace and having the steam pump the water. but the simplest way is to find a higher water source and just make a cannal.

while powerful it can do a lot of good. it will likely increase health and lifespan(if there was a powerful ai that could save countless lives would you keep it only to yourself.) while it could be use as a weapon it likely will help every one increase their odds of training. (in a world that anyone can suddenly gain superpower do you not think having a skill that can make you stronger and faster that could help in running away.) he has ideas but there a limit to how much one person can discover and even if other use these skills they would not be as good as him unless they eat multiple fairy grass. if anything this is safer since they may train in other ways that the mc could not have, by changing their focus to something that the mc have an advantage in seem to help the mc.
