Yeah, it's been like 50 chapters or something. The story is literally missing 3/4 past a particular point.

This book is not for you if you cannot place yourself in the shoes of a young man in his 20s. There are some elements of nationalism, and in-jokes which you must have an understanding and appreciation of Chinese humour to get. The translation quality is good until around chapter 400, where it becomes a bit more shoddy. This is one of my favourite novels (I've read probably hundreds on Web novel); the novel is very addictive, absorbing, funny, and the character dynamics are very entertaining. There are quite a lot of dirty jokes which you have to think about to get, which add to the humor. The author constructed a cohesive and imaginative world in which Li Xianyu (salted fish) tries to solve the mystery of his father's death, and survive. The author makes great use of foreshadowing (sometimes hundreds of chapters before-hand, or more) with little details and clues that would help you figure out what was going on behind the scenes earlier - you have to pay attention. The author does a superb job of describing the environment of the second world war and the struggles of the people in China around that time; the author clearly did his research around the historical facts and events at the time, but places an interesting spin on them with the hidden Demon Descendant society playing a role.Overall, this is probably one of the best novels I have read on this platform; I read this novel over three days (after stopping 2 years ago and waiting for updates at chapter 383), it was addictive. The book is only marred by the poorer translation towards the end - which a good proof-reader could solve (like me!), and the missing chapter(s) (I think one or two) in the 700 range, which were due to issues with the initial publication of the book on Qidian - the missing chapters are on the Author's QQ or China's Facebook equivalent (I can't remember the name).

I don't really understand the ending... did he travel back in time to restart everything? Loved this book though, great read.

Chinese have the habit of doing video calls

The male passengers looked at Xu Yang with eyes filled with envy and jealousy. The female passengers looked at Xu Yang curiously, wondering what was so special about Xu Yang that he could capture the hearts of two sisters, with the elder one breaking up and the younger one taking her place.

Great setting, essentially steampunk London/sea faring era with what seems to be a large magical system (loose).Interesting concept, and I like the story beats so far. Definitely recommend and hope for more translation

if he's a killer of human traffickers, he's a hero, not a sinner. Maybe translation is wrong.

unless they 'paid' for it via their account/credit card, they are not liable. It will end up as Gao Qi's debt.
