This is not Daemon character. Daemon is super proud with his and Family House blood Old Valyrian Blood of Dragonlord , he also despise and lookdown many other Noble Houses in the westeros either it from Andal Blood or First Men Blood. So much so he hated his marriage with Rhea Royce of Runestone cause he think that Royce its beneath Tagareyan and doesnt deserve the honor to marry Prince of Blood from Dragonlord Valyrian Lineage. So for Daemon, Blood matter. The answer that Daemon more likely to say that " Then you should be grateful that i give you a chance to become my squire, beside while its true that you are a smallfolk, ( in ASOAIF they using the term smallfolk rather then peasant )you have potential and also you have a look of pure Valyrian that means you are a bastard, a dragonseed." ( For Daemon, bastard ( dragonseed ) with valyrian blood and with a look of pure valyrian its still better than any noble house but in the end Daemon still look down of them. He just think that any Dragonseed should be grateful that a proud blood of Valyrian run through their vein. )

Thats why i say maybe. We didnt know which reference of materials that Author use. Maybe GOT series, maybe ASOAIF. I leaning to GOT series cause next paragrafh mention Arthur Dayne ( MC compare himself with Arthur Dayne cause he got a dual wielding skill ) and there also reference to SAO anime. Doesnt matter tho cause its look cool anyway and Author like it and he write it. When i say World of ASOIAF and its lore cause the world in there is really huge and have many place not yet explored and with its massive and deep lore, dual wielding maybe uncommon but not so weird even in the setting of medieval era ( its still fantasy medieval anyway ).

Ser Arthur Dayne in GOT series is dual wielding. Not so strange and just a little bit of unrealistic, beside its based of A song of Ice And Fire books and GOT series ( maybe ). With GRRR Martin settings of the world of ASOIAF and its lore, its just a uncommon at best even the story based of medieval era, its still counted fantasy medieval with magic and some horrors creatures.

I know this novel is AU ( Alternate Universe / Author Universe ), but there is no way a wandering scholar ( either be acolyte or maester of citadel ) can gave a few books because books are expensive in the ASOIAF world. You literally must hand written each books and there is no printing press so its take a long time just to written 1 book.
