If he gained 5 levels, he should be level 135. I am enjoying the story for the most part, but these mistakes become annoying.

Probably can't, just as he is suppressed, but there are other limiting factors. Also, they just aren't stated, allowing the reader to immerse themselves into the story more. Also, if that happened, wouldn't we miss out on the whole progression of the story.

However, it could only be said that his suppressed self was far too stupid, he had overestimated himself. If others heard this evaluation of a Leonel was already too far beyond others, it was hard to say exactly how they would react, but this current version of him cared for nothing but the fact.

Also the silk road started in China they didn't only utilize maritime trading as it was more expensive and far more dangerous than using the land routes. Also look at the size of China just because you look traditionally as the majority ethnicity that is portrayed doesn't mean that is the case.
