I do honestly think that he really did care for and maybe even love Constance and Calhoun in his own way, but he was just too weak-minded and was easily swayed by his family
Laurence pressed his head against the ground and said, "Forgive me! I never meant to hurt you or your mother, Calhoun. I have never mistreated you. I have always put you first. I knew what I did in the past was wrong, but I sent my very own mother to the dungeon!"

I'm remotely shipping Catherine and Theodore now, even though they've not even interacted in this story haha
Catherine was more than shocked, and her eyes went wide, "No intention to marry? I thought you liked me. Don't you?" the girl questioned, stepping closer to James, but then he stepped away from her. Her heart broke over this action of James, and she said, "You have been complying to my words, every single time-- coming with me to attend the soirees, the ball and other parties that have been taking place. Are you joking with me?" she asked, her smile faltering to notice James looked serious.

Roshan is teaching him how to be a demon, Irene is teaching him how to be a witch, and Hazel is teaching him how to be a human 🥺
I was also happy that he was slowly opening his heart for his mother. Sometimes I would find him sitting with Irene and having long talks. He had said that she was only teaching him how to use his witch powers but I could see that he enjoyed her company. Even Lothaire would visit sometimes but things didn't seem to go well between him and Lucian.

Is it just me that doesn't think Lin Jingyi has done anything particularly wrong? Like obviously as she is the 'other woman' in this situation she's seen as the villain, but she's been working closely with Sei for a number of years and fallen in love with him and been trying to get close to him all this time with little success and then this 'random woman' comes out of nowhere and sweeps him of his feet in an instant, so she gets angry. Then she realises this is his long lost wife and so she's devastated and realises she's never going to have a chance with him after all this time she's spent crushing on him? I think if she was the protagonist in this story we'd feel sorry for her and think of Davi as the 'villain', so I don't think Lin Jingyi has acted particularly badly, or tried to 'destroy' their family since she found out the truth?
Hinari's mischievous face smirked loudly as soon as she saw the dejected look on Lin Jingyi's face. She looked exactly like a tragically defeated loser and she couldn't help but mock her. Well, Hinari hated this type of woman the most, the type who would try to destroy someone else's family.

This means none of Constance’s wishes were ever heard 🥺
"How rude," Vladimir's eyes narrowed as they looked at Gabriel. "You dare to say that you blocked my possible messages to Heaven and you ask me for help."
