I'll be honest cause of the early days of reading novels online I'm still scarred by the Chinese and their stretching 1 chapter into 5-10 chapters for the word count so whenever the subject comes up my immediate reaction is anger and frustration but your doing a good job with the pacing

I honestly felt I didn't need to further emphasize this, but this story has a DARK tag and even in description and early chapters it's mentioned there would be some hardcore stuff. Why even read a dark story if you are snowflake!
