Honestly, the premise was good, but the blatant racism killed it for me.
From what i know, the observable universe is just what we can see since light takes time to pass, but that is very unlikely to be the entire universe, so 110 billion light years just means that he is beyond the scope of what you can see from earth (although even if he was there since light takes so long it will be billion of years before they could even see whatever star is next to his planet)
