For some reason the author decides to make a parallel world where both versions of the mc are different from each other. Now I would have had no problem with this if this had been the plot point from the beginning but the author pulls it out of nowhere and ruins all the emotional attachment and character development of every other character for this weird plot twist. If this was needed because the author ran out of ideas then just end the novel instead of ruining so much work and effort because of a terrible plot twist.
