Dahlia can't take Freya. The agreement was to take the firstborn. It's on Dahlia if she's unhappy with the deal, not Esther and her family. I'm sure they made some sort of magical agreement, and if not she's still breaking it. Don't just invent bullshit to make Freya be taken instead of the MC. It makes 0 sense.

I can't read a story with a negative-IQ MC. Dropped.

No, I just get sad when decent novels/fanfics get ruined by stupid choices. It's hard to read when I know the MC doesn't have a brain, and thus the story loses all believability. It's just like when MC's gets wishes and wishes for the most lowball, idiotic thing out there in order to make things "interesting." I would have no complaint if the author simply stated that the MC was reborn into a Nord, or if an MC with wishes instead just got granted "boons" or got them randomly. It's the CHOICE, and especially the POOR choice, part that is difficult to stomach.

You simply failed to explain the full thoughts of the MC then. Not that I'd believe it, because the MC has practically no information about his situation (what kind of rules apply in the 'real' Tamriel) and doesn't display any machinations or complex plans/thoughts at all. The only reason the MC states is about the racism, and thus this is the ONLY way to judge the MC's choice. The reason is stupid, and hence the MC is stupid. Not to mention that he might get far more benefit choosing a different race, like a High Elf, by choosing the side of the Thalmor or the High Elves. They're far more influential across Tamriel compared to the Nords, and thus they'd also be a tactically superior choice for that reason. There's no reason why the MC has to stay in Skyrim, but even in Skyrim they're scared shitless of the Thalmor's power and how they're able to manipulate/influence the Empire.

I have to stop reading here, despite the pretty good writing. The fact that the MC picked Nord simply because he didn't want to deal with racism is so stupid that I can't possibly read a story with such an MC. Lorewise, Altmer are not only THE most magically gifted race, but they can also live about 300-500 years WITHOUT the use of magicka to extend their lives. I don't care about any reasoning from the MC when he can get so obvious innate benefits from choosing another race. It doesn't matter if he somehow eventually finds a way to become immortal or get better talent or whatever, because he still wasted so much potential, time, and the opportunity for a far better start/base. He's not thinking like this is a real world, but as a childish person who can't properly weight benefits against each other. WHat is not having people be racist towards you compared to living for an extra 400 years and being far more magically gifted? Also, he could live even longer due to magick, and it's likely far easier to extend an already long lifespan.
