If you don't even see the shit you're writing, you're a terrible writer. The story had everything to be incredible, but there's so much poorly developed shit, there's no way to pretend it's just stupid and I'm not reading it. and the protagonist choosing to evolve in combat when he had plenty of opportunity was the final straw.
