Nah. From experience most of the fanfic Chinese authors like to suppress the MC abilities in the beginning if it is too strong, because most of them can't develop the plot otherwise. So you shouldn't expect him not trying to overcome/fix his shortcomings anytime soon, it will most likely happen through the lottery when the author find a way to develop the plot without suppressing the MC.
