章 7: Turning Into A Real Zombie!
"Stupid question!" Harry told himself. How could he be? In the movies and dramas, zombies were brainless and couldn't see. All they had in mind was 'bite this, bite that' but he wasn't hungry to do such a thing and he could think properly, to include, his physical appearance wasn't what the zombies look like. It wasn't like the zombie he had killed for the first time in his life.
Perhaps, the movies and dramas had exaggerated and getting beaten by zombies wasn't naturally linked to turning one. Harry had lots of explanations against the fact that he wasn't a zombie, however, there was no explanation pertaining to all that he had witnessed and the green screen that kept appearing to him.
Once again, it appeared.

Harry rubbed his eyes and the screen disappeared.
Wait...how the hell did this damn thing know Gabrielle was his crush?
Harry turned around to face Gabrielle who was busy reciting the heating spell but then he got distracted when he noticed her wrong pronunciation. "It's not expande alas tuaes err superae!"
Gabrielle stopped whatever she was doing and then turned around slowly, biting her lips in anger because he interrupted. "And what is it dear, mage?"
He had no idea if she indeed wanted to know or was being sarcastic but he replied nevertheless, "expande alas tuas et superare?"
"Thank you!" She sweetly replied before turning and rolling her eyes. However, as she heeded to his rectification, she felt a sudden temperature around the pen she had successfully put in the air. "Wow, Harry! Can...you see that? The cover is melting!"

Harry hit his forehead on his desk, annoyed.
But then he furrowed his eyebrows when he noticed something. The status points to be distributed freely had increased from +15 points to +25 points! That was a lot and definitely meant to be tempting!
Harry shook his head. No, he couldn't harm Gabrielle, even though it was someone else, he wouldn't turn him or her into a zombie!

Harry couldn't believe whatever he just read.

Harry had heard a lot about green screens and blue screens they called systems, however, he had never heard any system behave rashly in this way.
What kind of system puts its user at a disadvantage every single moment?
Harry's chest grew in and out. He didn't want to know what would happen when the five minutes is exhausted, nor did he want this kind of life.
His ears were already tired of those loud beeps. Even some of his classmates had begun to watch him with raised eyebrows as to his sudden jerks when he heard the beeps.
"What do I do? Do I tell Zadkiel?" He asked himself. "Or Mr. Donaldson?"
Hearing Harry utter to himself, Gabrielle turned to him again and said, "Have you gained some kind of... ?" She paused, looking closely at him. "I mean...how could you have become a genius just after going out to have fun?"
"However, do you mean?"
"Isn't that the reason why you have been speaking to yourself?" She chuckled. "You know, the genius trait they talk about?"
Harry removed his gaze from her and then faced the board. His gaze then turned to Zadkiel who was still sitting.
He gritted his teeth for a moment as he continuously watched Mr. Donaldson guide him through the spell he was reciting. Though Harry wasn't at the front seat where he could easily see him, he still could. "Damn! He is busy!"
"And again..." He muttered. "There is no actual way I can beat him now that he is all good in spell casting. Rot in hell Donaldson!" Harry screamed in his head.
In a few minutes, the system didn't beep again and Harry had forgotten about the quest. He only rested his head on the desk, relaxing, until he heard another beep.

However, just after Harry read the message, he felt something drip from his wrist. He checked his wrist and saw that the fresh flesh on where he had previously been bitten had disappeared. No, it had started rotting!
He blinked to make sure whatever he was seeing wasn't pertaining to a hallucination or anything related, only for him to discover that his other hand had begun to rot. All his body!
He tried standing up, so that he could run away from the classroom but it took him many seconds to achieve it. He was extremely slow in moving.
However, he was surprised when everyone in the classroom screamed in horror at the same time. The noises were incredibly loud and it turned him deaf instantly. He couldn't hear anything or anyone and could just see moving mouths and widened eyes.
Gabrielle who was staying beside him was horrified just like everyone else but still had the bravery to ask with a shaky voice, "Harry....what is happening to your face?"
However, Mr. Donaldson noticed this. "Stay away from him, he has been bitten by a zombie! He is transitioning!"
