章 1: Prologue: Assassination
Third Person POV:
"Date 4'th of June, 2038.
Experiment of Project C12...*sigh* Once again a failure. The structure and data base within the brain of the newly made droid is... unfortunately dysfunctional. The Android's human like brain has simply to little power or blood like ours does. If I could attach a heart like object to it, that sends appropriate levels of energy that could or may make the droids brain jump start and begin to function on its own..*removes classes and rubs the bridge of her nose.* but there is insufficient information about how or why the body of this droid simply doesn't work. I will investigate further later on once I get my superiors to analyze and correct the data. Ugh." The girl briefly glanced at her computer which had stored and recorded her words. The Android which was nothing but machine at the moment laid dormant on a steel table next to her. It had no eyes and looked like a skeleton, all of its insides open for inspection. The entire lab was in disarray, papers scattered everywhere along with books, it seemed as if a hurricane had made its way through it. Tools laid around the Droid like a shield. The girl on the other hand looked neat and tidy. The door opened on the other side of the room and a young man with and old lady walked in.
"Oh, Riley, your still up? How is that project of yours going?" The old lady addressed the young girl, she smiled her eyes glittering.
" Not so good, Dr. Tamer. The droids brain keeps shorting out or it simply doesn't want to work. Infact I had planned to ask for your insistence. But it's late so I won't bother you." Riley says smiling apologetically.
" Oh no, let's take a look then." The doctor says, using her crane to walk forward the young man nodded in greeting and left the room as the doctor reached the table she began to fiddle with the tools, gears and other various smaller objects were tweaked and oiled, checked and replaced. They worked well through the night but to no avail, the Android refused to budge.
"Mhm, Riley... get some rest. Take the day off." Dr. Tamer told the girl. She nodded a defeated expression clear on her face. She stood up and gave a slight smile to the Doctor. She left the building in jeans and a leather jacket. A black haired girl rushed from around the corner and gave Riley a hug nearly taking them to the ground.
"Sis!" She shouted a happy smile edged into her face.
" Lyra, you of all people know I don't like being surprised." Riley sighed and continued to walk as Lyra hung onto her like a Koala bear.
"Watch a movie with me, sis?" Lyra asks.
"No, I've already watched so many of your movies. And I'm sure I've read the story or manga or comic." Riley says. Lyra stuck her tongue out, unhappy.
" Yeah, yeah, spoiler. Fine you don't need to come along. I'll go by myself. But I won't buy any more of those spoiling books." Says Lyra. Riley grinned.
" Oh? And tell me, do you really think I will need your money. I have my own after all." Riley says. Lyra scoffed and jumped down from Riley's back.
" Fine. Your going home right?Then see you later." Lyra says walking away. Riley smiled and shook her head, they've always done this. Lyra always tries to blackmail Riley into going to the movies with her through one way or the other and Riley sometimes agrees but she disagrees most of the time. She almost reached her home when someone grabbed her arm and dragged her into a back alley. A knife to her throat.
"Sorry kid. But my employer doesn't want the age of computerized humans to come." A harsh sounding voice says as Riley felt her mind fading, she saw the man type on his phone as her life faded from the world.
